Buckynat is such a good ship because what if you were both victims and also unwilling perpetrators (which is also part of your victimhood, but a lot of people, including yourself, don't see it that way), and then comes this one person who does know intimately all the ways you've been violated and all that you've done, and this person is the one good thing in all of it, and maybe you can't forgive yourself for all the things that happened, but you can love this one person who is so much like you, that maybe it almost feels like absolution.

i think with how many jokes we make about pride and how happy we are about it, we need to understand why we have it. to appreciate people who lost their lives or are currently losing their lives for being themselves. remember the people who fought to give us the rights we have today. there are still so many people who are homophobic or transphobic, and that is what we need pride for. it is our job to be proud of ourselves so the bigots don’t win. show them we’re not going away. pride month is about loving yourself and others no matter their sexuality

Over 90% of parents of visibly intersex children opt for cosmetic surgery on their infants.

The ones that don't experience medical violence then, likely experience it as a teenager.

I didn't.

I am very rare in that I did not experience medical violence.

Why? Because I learned what intersexuality was as a young age, and I actively fought against what doctors wanted to do to me. All the way down to legal research on what medical care minors can be forced into. I remember walking into that doctor's appointment with the state law written down that proved that if I did not consent they could not do surgery.

That is why intersex activism is important. It saved me and it will save more.

i know folks are gonna call me a pedo for this one, but i grew up seeing my mom and grandma naked. they had health issues and at times needed care and help showering. and i truly think more kids need to be shown the nonsexual reality of naked women at a young age. there is nothing sexual about my grandmothers breasts, they were simply body parts. more women die of heart attacks because people are too afraid of breasts to do real chest compressions, because they are scared to touch their breasts. the sexualization of our bodies literally kills us. i need people to be more normal about naked bodies and i'm 100% serious.
