Okay it's super late because my job got crazy during October but here is a fic I wrote originally for @rumicworldweek 2025! It's a one shot about Kikyo and Kagome's relationship from Kikyo's perspective, written for the prompt Kindred Spirits. I hope you enjoy!
If you have recent version books of mermaid saga (Viz), can you show us some back pages sketches of mermaids?
I´m sorry but English is not my first language and I´m not sure what you´re looking after.
I don´t have the book version but I scrolled through the first volume of the collection edition I found online and there aren´t sketches.
I´m not sure if I should be looking in other places.
Do you mean these pages at the beginning of the chapters?

Rumic World Week -- A Second Post Favorite Relationships
As everyone in this community knows, I am the number 1 Ryoga and Ukyo shipper and have been on this train for like, over 10 years atp. Just real quick I wanted to mention some reasons why I find the ship compelling!
I like their similar histories, friends with Ranma forced to give up family and community over a grudge with a boy who thought they were best friends. And I think the different ways Ryoga and Ukyo respond to rekindling their relationship with Ranma is interesting. Opposite in execution, but both remain unable to define themselves outside of him.
They also have a lot in common. They are some of the only characters in the manga who are friends without complications (at the end of the day, pretty much all rivals are friends, for example, Akane and Shampoo, but they still have their grudges). And I like seeing them interact as sincere friends. I think Ryoga has a tendency to mope and be intensely melodramatic, unable to separate himself from his emotions or the situation. While I like Akari, I wish he didn't end up with a girl who thinks the world of him. I think he needs someone who's more of a realist, who won't take him too seriously and will bop him on the head when he's depressed and snap him out of it.
Ukyo is strong and confident, and I think she compliments him well. She has her own goals and business, so she wouldn't be as bothered if he were missing for long stretches of time. She also implies on a few occasions that her ideal partner plays more of a domestic and/or parental role, allowing her to maintain her restaurant. I think Ukyo can be harsh and demanding at times, and I think it'd be interesting if she had to learn more emotional patience in a relationship. She's not an intrinsic caregiver, but she is a fighter and a defender. Whereas Ryoga is a martial artist, but emotionally he tends towards the sappy and romantic route, rather than the vocal protector. I think they contrast each other nicely in their personalities and their dynamic.
They also are two characters who are not the protagonists of the manga, but still manage to grow ever so slightly by the end, which is huge in a gag based Takahashi comedy. I think they have great potential to grow together, and are a positive influence on each other. I will always be sad they never spoke again as friends after the Tunnel of Lost Love. I also think there's so much angst potential considering their biggest rival is the one the other person fell for.
But to be honest I just like them in any context, including platonic. I find their platonic interactions to be fun and humorous, and tbh when I write them I almost always write them platonically. I'm basically in this fandom because I'm always seeking out new art/fics/content of this duo, in any capacity. Thanks for listening to my little Ryoga/Ukyo pitch. And if anyone knows a good fic or artwork, feel free to tag or DM me! :)
Rumic World Week October 8th -- Favorite Relationship(s)
I wish I had more of a creative output these days but with a week straight of shifts at my new job I'm somewhat limited atm. So instead I want to recommend some of my favorite fanfics for different Rumic series and ships!
I realize this is less of a contribution and more of an amalgamation, but I have some stuff in the works. Anyway if anyone does read one of these stories, or has in the past, let me know! I'd love to chat about it!
Urusei Yatsura
Ryuunosuke x Shinobu is an underrated ship, and finding fanfic from a series that peaking before anime export to America has begun on the VHS market in earnest/before the internet picked up traction is a daunting task, but @deliciousgears writes great fics for my favorite rarepair! This one was always my favorite.
Wherefore Art Thou Ryuunosuke
Ranma 1/2
For Ryoga x Ukyo I think it's hard to beat the master Ninnik Nishukan's longest, slowest burn, and most introspective fic. The characterizations here are spot on, but more importantly for me this is a fic where you can read about these two falling in love. The writing is poetic and poignant and everything you could want in a romance novel. This fic is still my everything almost 11 years after I first found it.
Omiyage
If you are a Ranma x Akane fan then I cannot recommend Richard Ryley's fanfiction enough! Bonus points for the Ukyo depiction that veers wildly off canon but to me still feels true to the AU and the little we get of her in canon. Talk about fics I grew up with. The Ranma and Akane relationship is the center of this high paced AU and the author really takes his time to show them learning to trust and befriend each other while the fall for each other. It's great.
The Saotome Sisters
Nabiki x Kuno was never a pairing I particularly enjoyed or sought out but this fic converted me! What is so great is how true this story is to the tone of the series. The author (@sugar-stories) captures the atmosphere of Ranma perfectly and then managed to create a world where Nabiki and Kuno believably fall in love..... Genuinely masterful.
A Stable Relationship
Akane x Ukyo is a real rarity, especially angsty? This ficlet lodged in my brain years ago. There's nothing I love more than a 15 years on toxic relationship fic. Insane and delicious.
Onnabe
Inuyasha
Sesshomaru x Kagura is one of my favorite Inuyasha ships, and @kiwi--witch is an author that really gets Kagura. She takes her time to fully develop her and what a post Naraku life would look like for her. She also never backs down, simplifies, or sincerely admires Sesshomaru, which I think allows him to be closer to his canon portrayal. My favorite fic is Sastruga, but the prequel, Born Free, establishes Kagura backstory beautifully. I can't recommend these enough
Born Free / Sastruga
Miroku x Sango is another longtime favorite ship of mine, and I have so many fics to pic from. However I just reread this one and was SO moved. It really resonated with me as an adult in a whole new way. This has such a good portrayal of Miroku as a self sabotaging commitment fearing pessimist and I eat it up. It has been deleted from ff.net though so the only link I have is to a website with a slightly corrupted text file.
A Rickety Bridge
Miroku x Sesshomaru is a crackship I never thought I'd enjoy, but this author proved me wrong. It's not up my normal alley at all, but the way Sesshomaru's relationship with Rin is portrayed, and the little drabbles in general were very cute. Recommended if you want to try something new.
Tolerable
Decided to draw Akari & Kagome clotheswapping because it's fun.
I am not so keen to call them *insert name*-clones, just because Rumiko draw them kinda similar in her style. But I vibe with the headcanon of them being somehow related to one another.
Thanks Rumicworldweek for hosting! It is really fun to have been able to participate this year again!! ✨✨
No scene has probably made an impact on me such as the one form the short story Inside the pottery
Mrs. Tonegawa's grief after enduring cruelty from her mother in law without any reasons, only to lose her husband in an accident. And his last words were for his mom, the same woman who was so horrible to her.
They have been my comfort ship and otp for a looong time! Whenever I see them together I get happy.
Bonus:
I know if the manga had continued longer and we got more moments with these two, Ranma looking on while eating crackers like his favorite romantic comedy show is on would have definitely been a running gag.
