AGAINST EVERYTHING SHE TENDS TO FIGHT FOR , AGAINST THE GUT FEELING ... Mira complies.
It takes tubulous effort to get her body moving, to part herself from Rumi. To ignore the lingering blood that stains her palms, the ache in her chest that's ever fearful that this could be the last moment she'd see her. Time seems to be frozen and yet rapidly moving at once, Mira's senses becoming more jaded by each passing second.
Convincing Zoey, Mira knew, wasn't as easy as Rumi made it out to be. That alone is another battle, because for as stubborn as she is, increase that tenfold when it comes to taking their maknae away from this. Following her leader's gaze, a worry only continues grow at the sight of watching her fend off other demons. Their situation was dire.
All the more reason she found it so hard to leave her.
" You better. " Finally Mira takes her first steps away, gaze unwavering at Rumi. " And extra boba ... and a trip to the bath house. "
It's only when Rumi grants her a smile that she finally breaks away. Grip on her woldo tightening, she nods slowly and tears her gaze away and towards Zoey. Making short work of the demons in her path, she decides that another argument over this unideal scenario isn't worth the time ( for now ), and lowers her body as she nears Zoey. She'll apologize later, surely, but she practically drives her shoulder into the youngest's abdominal and wraps her free arm around her.
Lifting her before she can fight back, she settles Zoey over her shoulder and furrows her brows in annoyance. Thirty minutes. Then she'll be tearing everything in this area apart.
Relief washes down Rumi like a brief splash of water. It takes a bit of pressure off her chest and mind, making it easier for her to think as she shifts her eyes from left to right, surveying her surroundings during the last moments before Mira moves to leave.
She doesn't reply, only nods. Her eyes watching the retreating females and she captures one last look from Zoey. The worry and confusion all construed into what Rumi feared to look as if anger had her heart beating quickly pulled her gaze away from her.
It's OK, Rumi. It's OK. You'll explain everything when all of this is over.
She repeated the words as if that'll keep her grounded and focused.
She knows her demons have been creeping up, threatening to drag her down into the depths of the demon world, so she had to fight it.
And she will.
The next thirty minutes or so—she had lost count the couple groups of demons she slashed through with her saingeom sword—was spent ensuring that Mira and Zoey are able to escape safely, while she cleared out this area until the honmoon was sealed for the time being; adrenaline high enough that she didn't realize the rip on her shoulder that showed a sneak peek of her patterns along with a cut.
Once completed, she slams her sword down against the ground and just as she was about to text the girls, she drops her phone as she felt digging pain against her temple. The voice disoriented, but insanely distant until it was gone.
"Not this again…" She muttered, reaching down as she typed a quick 'I'm omw.' as she left the premises, and headed back to the meetup point—the only thing keeping her grounded was knowing her two best friends were safe and that she'd see them soon.

@rumunui sent: "Zoey!" Rumi popped up beside the female, a wide grin on her face, fingers itching for a certain item of hers to swipe, but not just yet. "Are you wrapping up on working on those lyrics? Great! Because have ramen and couch ready for us to chill."
Then, the time comes, as Rumi swiftly swiped the female's notebook and closed it, placing to the side, "come on~ you can work on them later. I think we both deserve some time to chill, don't you think?"
Frustration easily ebbed into exhaustion as the hours passed by & her brain couldn't, for the life of her, come up with the remainder of the chorus. Another torn page from her thinning notebook before the unceremonious thud of her head against the desk could be heard. Useless. Stupid. Talentless. The spiral began as usual when she found herself stuck like this. Maybe Rumi will finally kick you out of the group... No.
Eyes opened wide only to find the woman in mind right beside her, Zoey's breath caught in throat as words finally registered. Ramen, couch, & chill? The true rhythm to her heart, but nothing nor nobody else could put those spiraling thoughts to rest faster than Rumi. Her dearest friend was met with the biggest smile the rapper could muster. Usually she'd whine about having her notebooks torn out of her possession, but this time was different. It was needed.
❝ Ramen, couch, AND Rumi break? Yes please, let me change into comfy clothes first! The song isn't going anywhere anyway... right? So a break is perfectly fine! ❞ The shorter practically bounced out of her seat, only to spin around & hug Rumi tightly. ❝ Thank you, Rumi! ❞
Rumi knew fully well what crashes through the girls' mind like waves of an angry storm. As a leader, and a best friend, it had always been her duty to make sure she kept those thoughts at bay whenever she could. Of course, she wasn't one to pry, but always reminded them that she would be there to listen to anything they needed to get off their chest.
It's the least she could do, to make up for the huge secret she held deep inside, even buried it layers deep.
She could never think of any other person to be their lead rapper and lyricist. The way Zoey's words flowed on paper and through songs was the icing on the cake. She would always remind Zoey that, but for now, it was couch time.
"Take your time! I'll be in the living room setting things up." Rumi nodded in accordance, her eyes twinkling as she gave Zoey a reassuring smile, "that's right, they're not going anywhere." And neither was Zoey.
Her eyes widened, until they softened, and rested her hand on top of Zoey's head before she gave her a hug in return, "don't mention it~ Now go, I'll meet you in the living room."
