Nightmares- Aizawa x Gender Neutral Reader
Hello! I hope you like how I did your request!!! Mha season 5 spoilers??? Sorry if it’s too short.
Warnings: angst, mentions of death, nightmares
You slept peacefully with your lover laid on your chest, his body wrapped around your side and arms holding you close to him. In your sleep you tangled your hand in his hair, occasionally petting him and playing with it.
You awoke to Aizawa sitting on the edge of the bed, slightly shaking, bent over himself and gripping his knees. His long hair hid his face, but by the little sniffles he let out you were sure he was crying.
“Sho…?” You asked, your words slurred and eyes half open, “What’s wrong?”
He turned to look at you, his eyes red and puffy with tears rolling down his cheeks.
“Nothing hun,” He reassured, “I’m okay. I’m sorry for waking you.”
You reluctantly sat up, propping yourself up with one arm while the other rubbed the sleep out of your eyes. You yawned, then gave him a look of disapproval and disbelief.
“Its…” You started, glancing over at the alarm clock, “2 in the morning and you’re crying. What’s wrong?”
Aizawa sighed and rubbed his tears away, taking a deep breath in and slowly releasing it.
“I had another nightmare,” He muttered.
“Oh honey…” You consoled, quickly shifting to sit next to him, wrapping your arms around his side.
Aizawa laid his head in your shoulder, gently holding your arm wrapped around his torso.
“I can’t stop remembering how he looked, just lying there,” He admitted, “Dead and disfigured…”
“I’m so sorry, Sho,” You apologized.
“He was so young, Y/N,” He sobbed, “He was my best friend. He never deserved it,”
“I know he didn’t, Sho,” You reassured, “I never knew Shirakumo but I’m sure he was an amazing man who never deserved to go that way.”
You both shifted, so you were laid back against the bed and Aizawa laid between your legs with his head on your chest. You gently played with his hair, something you had discovered that had easily calmed him down. He cried into you, gripping your shirt.
“I want to fucking kill All for One for what he did to him,” Aizawa spat out.
“You have every right to, I kind of wished All Might has finished him off back in Kamino,” You admitted.
“He deserves to rot in hell for what he did to Oboro,” He cried again.
You kissed the top of his head, cupping his cheek in your hand and turning his head to look at you.
“Listen to me Sho, alright?” You asked. He nodded his head.
“You’re going to be okay. I’m sure the doctors and the police are going to look for any way possible to undo what All for One did to Shirakumo, and then he can finally rest. You’re a hero, Sho. Shirakumo would be so proud of you and what you’ve grown in to, and how many people you can save and train to do the same,” You consoled.
“It’s absolutely terrible what happened to your best friend, and I know that pain is deeper than any other. I never knew him, but based off what you’ve told me I can guess that he wouldn’t have wanted to die in vain. No one wants their loved ones to be sad after they pass,” You continued.
“Every day you’re avenging his death, with every villain you capture and with every new hero you train. He’d be proud of you, Sho,” You finished, gently wiping the tears from his eyes.
Aizawa was sobbing now, crying into your chest as he wrapped his arms around you, hugging you as tight as he could.
“I love you, Y/N,” He cried.
“I love you too, Sho,” You whispered back.
You held him as he continued to cry, until he eventually fell asleep again. The rapid rising and falling of his chest from hyperventilating turned into deep breaths, and small snores that made you giggle from how cute they were.
You felt the desire to sleep linger back in, your eyes becoming heavy and your brain lacking the ability of complex thought. You cupped Akzawa’s face and pressed a kiss to the top of his head before falling asleep too.
