"goddess" "matriarchy" "female wisdom" girl your civic rights
“But I didn’t and still don’t like making a cult of women’s knowledge, preening ourselves on knowing things men don’t know, women’s deep irrational wisdom, women’s instinctive knowledge of Nature, and so on. All that all too often merely reinforces the masculinist idea of women as primitive and inferior – women’s knowledge as elementary, primitive, always down below at the dark roots, while men get to cultivate and own the flowers and crops that come up into the light. But why should women keep talking baby talk while men get to grow up? Why should women feel blindly while men get to think?”

A good man.
Thank you for your art and kindness.
Chris Carter spent the better part of a decade telling us that Mulder and Scully had a strictly platonic friendship, and would never be romantic or “warm and fuzzy.”
Anyway, this is a post about Mel King and Frank Langdon.
i saw whitakers farm situationship so where was she???
Thinking about Abby so much that ATP she’s basically my favorite character.
jaime lannister is incomprehensible to the non asoiaf mind. yes he defenestrated a 9 year old. yes he’s fucking his twin sister. yes his incest started a war. yes he’s a widely loved fan favorite. no none of these things contradict each other
Wrote this lil drabble because I realized what Taylor said in that Access Hollywood interview sounds like something Mel would say
every platonic mel/langdon allegation infuses them with the power of mulder and scully. just so you know.

honestly i think the selling point of romance for me (and where it usually fails to land) is 'can i imagine these people sharing an in-joke'
like, are they in cahoots. can they laugh together. do they have a similar enough or at least complementary enough outlook that they can connect over something being funny (even if it's funny in a fucked up way! sometimes those are the best in-jokes!)
that's not necessarily true love in and of itself, but it does feel like an essential component to me
frank langdon's staring problem has me on thesaurus.com trying to find new and exciting ways to say "and when mel turned he was already looking at her"
sorry to be a broken record every month but christ menstruation is a stupid concept. oooooh excuse me for not getting pregnant, why the fuck is there goo falling out of me about it? grow the fuck up and reabsorb that shit for nutrients.
My contribution to this year's gentlbeard calendar for June. Posting now bc it's June..
Donnie rushing home to be with his wife and kid, Langdon lingering in the ER with back pain.
For everyone who ‘used to love reading’ but now hasn’t finished a book in years, you CAN get it back. Genuinely start bringing a book (preferably short and either fiction or a non fiction topic you already really enjoy) everywhere you go and when you have 5-20 mins waiting for the bus or at the doctors office or mechanic or whatever, get out your book and read it! You don’t have to finish it quickly or even read it often but it is so good for your brain and fun to get into the habit of reading more (and replacing being on your phone for those moments). Source: I read 0 books in 2023 and I’ve read 12 in the first 4 months of 2026
