@running-from-lost Zhen Huan was originally set in a fictional dynasty, NOT in Yongzheng reign, the drama changed it in to Yongzheng reign, so the novel never âtwistedâ anything. Compared to many, many historical dramas Chinese have done over the years, Ruyi is actually one of the dramas who show a BETTER effort at sticking to history. Most of the concubines and princes and princesses are based on real historical figures, there may have been detours in the middle but their endings are pretty much the same with general history. Chinese dramas have been twisting things for far longer than anyone can remember, why is âtwisting historyâ suddenly a criticism when it comes to Ruyi? Remember, history never recorded how these people actually were as human, their personalities, etc; it is not a crime for a FICTIONAL show/novel to depicts these people in their own FICTIONAL lights. Stop throwing âtwisting historyâ around, please!
Also, yes, there have been plagiarism accusations, but what the novel copied are essentially descriptive paragraphs, not actually the plot or characters of the story. Therefore, this is strictly the authorâs faults to answer for, not the show.
