Mile repeats. Check out those negative splits. Fastest mile in over a year!
Yesterday was busy! 9 mile trail run in the morning, hiking a disc golf course with my husband and youngest in the evening. It was her first time in the big carrier and she did great, until she got hungry and tired and I had to feed her and then carry her around in my arms until she woke up. Just a nice extra upper body workout 💪
The run was great- I took an offshoot trail to this overlook and it was worth the bear crawling, rock climbing, and jelly legs to get there. Also half a mile in, I realized I had to go to the bathroom, so I ended up leaning into a spider web, getting a spider on my face, and peeing in the woods all at the same time.
Found my new favorite trail last weekend. It's a doozy (by my out of shape standards) and the farthest I've run in 4 years (since before I was pregnant with my first).
PPD is kicking my ass this week. I'm trying really hard to stay away from disordered eating habits. Today facebook showed me a picture of myself 14 years ago when I was 30lbs lighter and very ill, so that was fun. Looking forward to my weekend long run on the trails to get in a better head space.
Today felt like a good day. Didn't get to enjoy our new baby pool before the storm, but we tried!
Made a friend on my run.
I've been gone on here since depression + COVID depression + postpartum depression is a terrible combination. But I finally left my house yesterday and went hiking and it was gorgeous.
Going to the doctor is hard work.
Last night the dog woke me up by throwing up everywhere, and then 3 hours later, needing to go out to to shit everywhere. And then when I got up at 6am to feed the baby and start work, he pooped in our bedroom.
We took both kids to the doctor for well visits and our oldest is a thumb sucker. Do you know how hard it is to keep a 3 year old from touching everything and then touching his face? When we got back, the dog had pooped all over his crate and sat in it so he needed a bath and our kid needed a bath from the doctors office germs, and the baby was super cranky from getting her shots.
My mom is coming over soon to watch the kids so we can purchase our first, nice, non hand-me down couch. Someday our house won't look like the mismatched thrifted/donated/castoff collection that we have going on now. (Our only other large furniture purchase in 7 years of. living together has been our bed).
I took 3 minutes off my 5 mile (postpartum) time! Still about 25 minutes slower than my actual 5 mile PR 😬
Work from home: day 47.
I've been working from home since I ended my FMLA in April. This lady has been working with me everyday. 🥰
I haven't had caffeine in 4 months. I just had a teeny tiny baby iced coffee and I feel buzzed. ☕🤪
I used to drink 2+ enormous mugs of black coffee at work everyday and feel normal.

2 mile run/walk with my littlest. It was way too hot and humid.
12 minutes HIIT and then 20 minutes of core work.
For dinner I got to make food just for myself 😍 Quinoa, peppers, onions, and kidney beans with a side of asparagus.

3 miles in my neighborhood with negative splits today. Those weekend trails must be helping. Average pace for the run was under 12 min/mile.
I found a gorgeous trail this weekend.
May2020 in numbers
I ran 33 miles and walked probably around 10 more.
I lost 2 pounds
Worked 160 hours from home with 2 kids
My son turned 3 and my daughter turned 3 months
I am proud of getting back into running. I was upset about only losing 2 pounds this month, because I'm trying to get back to my pre-baby weight (15 pounds to go). But I realized it fit in perfectly with my goal of about half a pound a week. That's all I can really expect if I want to continue breastfeeding and not ruin my supply.
Progress pics are below.

First 10k in over a year!
Another 5 miles today. 🥰
