Despite a very late night of helping getting some of the younger members of the pack settled, Hollis still found himself waking up early. Like part of him was still on alert. So he was already up and half dressed when he heard Emma finally arrive home with Rory. With that he breathed a small sigh of relief. Evan as it brought his thoughts circling back round to the evening before. Back round to that kiss. It had been unexpected in many ways, including its intensity. He’d always liked Emma, always thought she was beautiful. But when he’d first met her she’d been engaged so he’d never really let his mind or feelings go there. He’d be lying if he said that kiss hadn’t got him wondering. At the very least he needed to talk to her about it. More than that he wanted to make sure she was ok.
Still, he didn’t want to jump on her the second she got back. So after he finished getting dressed he went down to make a couple of cups of tea. Sweet of course. The British go to after things like last night. The collapse, not the kiss. The was something comforting about it. After what he thought was an acceptable time he headed for her room, knocking lightly on her door. He would understand if she didn’t want to talk now, if she needed to sleep. But at least he could check she was ok and bring her a hot drink.
