I most certainly use references when drawing, that's why all the transformers I ever draw are perfectly to their canon models (lying)

I like to think this isn't even in a continuity/time when humans in general are used to transformers, but rather, this specific human is used to them purely due to how many times he's pulled over knockout and knockout has run the "I'm a giant robot fear me" bit to get out of trouble.
