What is the $10 Revolution?
The $10 Revolution is an idea to transform the relationship we have to online media. The idea is this:
Set aside $10 of your budget a month. Just $10.
Then use that $10 to directly support creators you enjoy in whatever way you see fit. Maybe that means donating $1 to 10 different creators’ Patreons. Maybe that means subscribing to someone on Twitch for $5 and using the rest as a direct donation. Maybe that means giving the entire $10 to your favorite creator, and letting everyone else go.
But imagine the change if everyone set aside $10 to support their favorite online creators. If everyone who watched that tiny YouTube channel supported with $1. If everyone who read your favorite webcomic gave $1 a month.
Suddenly, an artist who has 300 fans has a legitimate source of income.
A YouTube channel with only 1000 subscribers might be able to sustain itself.
And the reliance on the ad-free model of media, where creators have to make clickbait to even have a chance of being seen, starts to end.
The $10 Revolution is not an idea, but a call to action.
Set aside just $10 a month, and ask your friends to consider doing the same.
Let’s see what we can do.
#10DollarRevolution
I’m in a position where I might have to give up on freelance art and go get a full time job soon, which means losing the freedom to work on my books, comics, and other projects. If one tenth of my tumblr followers pledged $1 a month to my Patreon, I wouldn’t have to do this. So yeah, this is a good idea.
Commissions Are Closed!
thank you to everyone who commissioned me! I’m closing commissions because i’m going to start selling stickers soon, and Its going to be a non-profit cause, donating the proceeds to maple farm sanctuary!
I’m also closing them for another reason
i’m considering rebranding my art blog, and that means changing my url. It’s gonna be a bit sad, but I want be more professional with my art from here on out. So that means i’ll be switching my url from russianblu to ebenrose, ebentaylor, or dasutadraws if i’m feeling spunky.
Which one would you want to see for my art blog?
You know, this is why content creators end up abandoning their works, right?
80 likes compared to 10 reblogs means that only 12% of people decided that what you did is worth showing other people.
If you like the thing, reblog it. You don’t even have to add tags, just spread it so that a) other people can see it, and b) the creator gets recognition for what they did.
Obviously, those numbers are never going to match, but the divide should not be that huge.
It’s even more important right now, because tumblr is garbage and they’ve stopped allowing anything with an outside link from appearing in tags. Writers/artists cannot tag things to their twitter/store/writing website. That can cause a significant drop in views, especially for newer creators.
Like… we aren’t asking for much. A few reblogs. Reviews/comments. No creator should have to beg for that much.
I don’t mind people writting comments on my art posts! i know some artists might think thats annoying, but i love hearing what people think about my art! say a compliment or a constructive critique in the tags, I’ll love it!
I appreciate any interaction i have with my followers, so please don’t be afraid or discouraged to do so!

Signs you might be a furry:
When you start thinking to yourself “Kumatora would be drawn with cat eyes and fangs more often; it makes sense with their name, and it just looks a lot cooler than other kumatoras”
“Rope Snake, would you please let me finish i was going to to tell them I’m bi-”
“Yeah so you gay”
“Koichi’s stand has finally manifested!”
sounds a lot better than “Koichi finally hatched his egg!”
Tonda gossa everyone, Duster here! If anyone wants to ask questions or chat, I made this ask blog just for you! I’m open for business.
