Did you ever imagine the potential for comedy if Night Swan did survive and agree to go to Ascendancy? Because I did it at a certain point and now I can't stop thinking about it.
First of all, Cygni would definitely be friends with Eli. Yes, it would be difficult for them to accept each other's political views, but, as often happens in ordinary life, they would learn to turn a blind eye to this and see in each other, first of all, enough good people. From what I understand, Cygni is older, and as an older comrade, he could help Eli to endure difficult moments or periods of loneliness more easily. He would also be someone with whom one could always discuss human things that both of them knew but Chiss didn't understand it.
And then Ronan would show up, yeahā¦
Ronan would DEFINITELY be someone on whom Nevill would hone all his sense of humor and ability to play a prank on anyone in any situation. He himself would definitely be angry and constantly swear at NightSwan, nagging at every opportunity, because how could a loyal imperial officer behave differently with a rebel, right? Oh, they would argue all the time, and I imagine Eli sitting in a corner while this is happening, and making a face like: "I'm not with them and I don't know them!".
šŗšSEND THIS TO OTHER BLOGGERS YOU THINK ARE WONDERFUL. KEEP THE GAME GOING ššŗ
Ooooh, thank you! :))) I'm very pleased:333
I began to notice that many people misunderstand the claims against Mikkelsen's Thrawn, so I want to express my opinion. First of all - I have NO complaint that Thrawn is not handsome/cute enough/too old looking. None. At all. Maybe someone has similar claims, but I have not seen such people.
I personally have basic questions about two things. The first is not the best work of make-up artists. I'm not well versed in this area, but was it really so difficult to make the growths on his forehead stronger, so that they were really noticeable, and not barely perceptible? With such additions to the actor's appearance, they did a great job even in Soviet films, which were filmed when my mom was still a child, so this is clearly not the most innovative and expensive thing. Why is it neglected now?
And secondly, despite the fact that Lars' voice is perfect for Thrawn, I continue to think that he looks completely different from him. I repeat - not because he is ugly or too old. But simply because his face itself has a different shape. At least in my opinion. Again, I remember Soviet cinema. There was a case when an actress who was ideal for the role spoke Russian very poorly, she was Polish. But it was she who played the role, and the other girl voiced all her speeches with her voice. The question is - if Lars' voice is perfect, why couldn't you do the same and ask him to re-voice another actor who will be exactly similar in appearance?
I don't have any reason to pick on Lars' acting skills. Perhaps his game will be good enough to make me forget all my pretensions. I've seen posts from people who know his acting better, and they mostly hold this opinion. Well, let's hope, and to be honest - I'm glad to see any Thrawn. I really wonder how his fate will unfold and what he will do. But I don't consider it right, that if I like something, then I should forget about other things that do not suit me.
Damn it, I came up with two opposing headcanons and I can't decide which one to stick with:
1. Ronan hates children and doesnāt know what to do with them, but for some reason they love him, they constantly hug to him, and he stands with them around him and like: āHELPā
2. Ronan constantly swears and quarrels with all the adults in sight, but with the children he instantly turns on the babysitter mode and turns into the Best Imperial Bro ever (Eli in shock)
I suddenly remembered my old theory that came up when I was watching Rebels. And now I want to share this with you. So⦠what if Thrawn wanted to send Hera Syndulla to the Chiss Ascendancy?
I know it sounds weird, but seriously. Thrawn already had experience in how to recruit a person for the Chiss who DEFINITELY did not want to go there and how to at least try to recruit a rebel (the story with Night Swan). The first point suggests that he can find a way even where it is quite difficult to do, and the second simply reminds that Thrawn does not make a difference in this sense. If a person, in his opinion, is suitable for cooperation with the Chiss, he does not care what role he occupies at the moment. The rebellion is its opponents, but not its enemies, and this is important to understand.
Now a little more specific about why I believe he wanted to recruit Hera. Firstly, we can see that he highly valued at least her flying skills, he spoke about it himself. And secondly: why did he even try to talk to her when she was captured by Arihnda Pryce? After all, pay attention, he did not try to split her, force it to give out any information. He just came, brought up the topic of her long-dead brother, and left without actually getting anything. And we know for a fact that Thrawn isn't the type to bully captives just because he's bored. He did not interrogate her, but this conversation should have given him something.
And I just think: is it not the point that he tried to study Hera in person, to see with his own eyes some of her reactions, to evaluate not by dossier or combat technique, but close-up? If you recall, he also did not immediately start a conversation with the Night Swan about a position in the Ascendancy, but at first he talked in general about the Empire, the Chisses and other abstract topics. In the old canon, by the way, there was also a pilot in the service of the Rebellion, which Thrawn sent to the Unknown Regions, only this happened later and under different circumstances.
Most likely, all this behavior of Thrawn is simply the result of a not very good understanding of the character by the authors. But if another, more logical and interesting conclusion can be drawn from this situation, then why not do it? What the scriptwriters didnāt come up with for us, weāll come up with ourselves!:)))
Eli DEFINITELY wasn't ready for something like thisā¦
I absolutely love my own headcanon about Ronan getting attached to a navigator girl, just like her to him. And since we donāt really know anything about Ronanās appearance, but I imagine him plump - after all, he is an paperworker, not a soldier, it seems logical to me - I am ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that this child climb to hug him and use him like as a pillow always whenever it possible. "Because you are soft!:P"))) Ronan would definitely be embarrassed and swear at her whole time, but they both knew that he actually liked that someone was paying attention to him, including through physical contact. This allows him to feel less lonely and not think so much about all his losses.
Guys, listen, we all know about the Domino squad and the fate of its members, but have you ever wondered what happened to the Bravo squad? I've been thinking about this recently. and I'm so sorry we don't know anything about how these guys' lives turned out. Even though they made fun of Dominoes, I don't think they were terrible people (we all do not the best things sometimes) and they did really well on the tests, so they could very well get into the elite units in the future .
For some reason, I imagine scene where Echo, together with Rex, during the second season of the Bad Batch, rescues another clone stolen by the Empire / thrown into the street and no one needs it, and he turns out to be one of the Bravo squad. Then they would talk a little, that guy would apologize to Echo for bullying him and the other dominoes, and Echo would help him come to his senses, perhaps come to terms with the loss of other members of the squad. I do not have enough desire to write such a fanfic with my own hands, but I would REALLY like to read it :)
I already wrote once that, according to my headcanons, in the Chiss Ascendancy, Eli and Ronan have one common room/cabin for two, just like Eli was neighbors with Thrawn in the past. I wanted to expand on the idea a bit, so here are some random thoughts on what their life could be like:
1) After the disappearance of Thrawn and the Chimaera, Eli does not sleep well and often wakes up from nightmares. This hinders Ronan, and although he usually has the conscience not to be indignant, sometimes he still shows his displeasure. Then, when the news about the fall of the Death Star arrives, it is the turn Eli stops getting enough sleep. Clarification: Ronan doesn't think the "traitor Vanto" is worthy of sharing his feelings with him, but still, when he wakes up at night, he feels a little better knowing that there is another living person nearby.
2) Ronan is an extremely jealous person in the sense that he will not give up an inch of his territory. This is the same neighbor who is just like "THIS IS MY HALF OF THE ROOM, EVEN YOUR SHADOW HAS NO RIGHT TO FALL IN THIS SIDE". He annoyed Eli so much with his constant nagging about "invasion" that Eli finally suggested that he take some chalk and trace the room in two halfes on the floor and on the table. As a result, the decision was deemed unworthy of two adult male officers, but the confrontation still sometimes flares up with renewed vigor. Sometimes Eli deliberately thought of putting something on the wrong side for laughs, but he abandoned the idea when he imagined how much time Ronan would then be outraged.
3) They have almost no "technical" problems - both Eli and Ronan are quite neat people who clean up their part of the room. Besides, neither of them would think of taking something from the other without asking - unless Ronan gets into some records or looks at a holophoto in Eli's absence, just to know what is on Eli's mind.
4) Once Eli woke up at night from the fact that he dropped his blanket on the floor. He was so lazy to follow him that, despite the slight cold, he fell asleep as is. However, when he woke up in the morning, the blanket was again thrown over his body. Ronan stated that he is completely nothing to do with here.
5) As canon hinted, Ronan doesn't have a very rich past, so as an adult - and at the time of his stay in the Ascendancy - he has an idiotic, in Eli's opinion, habit of taking a piece of bread or a cookie in the dining room, wrapping it in a napkin, put in your pocket and then hide somewhere in the room. It is impossible to explain to him that food is not limited and it is not necessary to stock up on it, defenitely unreal (Krennic tried, and if even HE couldn't do thisā¦). In the end, Eli just resigned himself and accepted the inevitable. Where else does he should go.
Headcanon: Brierly Ronan doesn't have a real family, but in Ascendancy one of the Chiss navigators becomes attached to him - and she becomes the neo-cificial Sweet Little Sister of the most grampy Imperial in the Galaxy. Just imagine how Ronan, who have pissed off the whole Ascendancy, would tell the little girl about the Empire, and she would pick on him, and he would be funny angry. Imagine that a girl runs up and hugs him every time she gets the chance, and he gets embarrassed and pretends to resent it. Imagine that she would be the only one to whom he could entrust his pain from the loss of the Death Star and all the close people who served there, and she would console him - and he would do everything to include in such hard and responsible work something good and fun in her life.
Bonus: this girl and Un'hee or another little girl who is just as strongly attached to Eli constantly argue over whose "brother" is the coolest. Whereas humans boast the achievements of their little sisters in the same way:Š·
I have a theory. Again.
What's the point: maybe I'm making up a secret meaning from scratch, but do you remember the words of Soller and Gilroy that Syril wants to work at the ISB? What if he will get there by doing something extraordinary during the riots on Ferrix? What if he saves Dedra's life?
We already know from the picture I attached that he will be there. And Dedra will be there too. Whether she will have time to leave by the time the riots begin is unknown, let's say that she is not. Then a situation may well arise in which, for example, an angry crowd will surround her, and Syril in disguise will be able to get close and help her get out, until no one recognizes him as a stranger. Now he just annoys her, and that's all, but imagine - she will be alone, spliting off the guards, among a raging crowd that wishes her death ⦠and then a man appears who, relatively speaking, grabs her by the hand and pulls out of that horror. Would she then refuse to reward him for his perseverance, or at least as repayment for a debt of life?
After today's episode, by the way, I wonder if Syril will take the former Sergeant Mosk with him. It is unlikely that they will have time to meet, of course, but it would be great! Linus was upset about the death of people at the hands of Cassian, and he clearly would like to take revenge too, he just is not so fixated on it. And two heads are better than one, right?
Linus Mosk, it's so damn good to see you again!
Seriously, I thought episode 4 was the last appearance of this guy. It was so unexpected and great to see him again! I sometimes thought about how he lives after his dismissal and whether everything is fine with him, but I did not hope to get an answer. He spoke so sweetly about himself, saying like, "Well, life has beaten me a little, but in general everything is fine":3 A positive dude, his love of life is definitely enough for three. He also still calls Syril "sir" even though they are no commander and subordinate longer , ooow, that's so cute.
In general, it is interesting how differently the fates of Mosk and Syril went after one common event that turned their lives upside down. Syril almost fell into depression, fixated on capturing Cassian and restoring justice, clearly hates his current job and tries to cling to Dedra, who looks at him like a moron, and not without reason. Whereas Linus is justā¦living? He does not mind helping his former boss with the capture of Cassian, but his life does not revolve around this, he works, finds reasons to smile and somehow lives on. I am not saying that Syril is wrong, because I myself know how hard events can hit a person that seem to others not so significant. It's just interesting to see how different their reactions are. Mosk, in principle, initially gave the impression of a stronger and more tenacious guy. Probably, it is generally difficult to unsettle him with anything for a long time.
Lonni Jung on Dedra: "Partagaz likes her"
I know that I should not feel this, but this phrase made me feel an indescribable tendernessš„ŗ
I wouldn't go as far as to say Syril is an incel and whatever crazy accusations y'all making, he hasn't blamed any women for anything, he's more of a blue lives matter type imo. Also Syril is clearly autistic coded, right from the social awkwardness to the strong sense of justice and rules that make sense to him (even if they're misguided). He feels safe and in control in a strict environment with clear rules and when he sees the rules of that environment not being upheld it makes him feel unsafe and betrayed. His obsession with Dedra is literally just because she's the only one who has taken him and his concerns somewhat seriously and that's so rare for him that he latches on for dear life. He blames Cassian for losing his corpo cop job that he loved and is hellbent on revenge for it
It is SO TRUE THANK YOU DUDE. I can't say with believe about autistic, but you said such a right thing about him and Dedra. He is not a just incel, he is madly lonely man, and nobody understand him. But she think like he about Kassian, it is so much important for him, and he just...it is all what he have now. It is defenitely not funny story:"(
Damn, I so much, SO MUCH disliked the hints in the new episode that attendant Heert would betray Dedra. More precisely, there were no specific hints there, and, perhaps, it seemed to me at all (although I saw that others thought so too). It was just that he behaved too actively, at the meeting he suddenly jumped up and interrupted her, then ordered that very terrible doctor without her order, or rather, he received the order, but replied that everything had already been done. It really seemed to me that the authors of the series lead to the fact that he wants to betray her, drawing the attention and favor of the major to himself. Within the framework of the system proposed to us, this would be logical and not cause misunderstanding, but I would be very upset by such a plot move.
I love loyal characters. Including - devoted to their commander. Ready to follow him anywhere, to sit at night helping him in his plans that no one else takes seriously, to die for him if necessary. For me, this is a very important and very close topic, I madly feel not enough such relationships in Star Wars. From what I know, the most ideal is Thrawn's relationship with Eli Vanto and the Chimera crew in general, and Ronan and Krennic's relationship. Both Eli and Ronan are ready to break for their leaders, they are ready to follow them anywhere, to do anything, without looking back at any consequences for themselves personally. Before today's episode, Heert seemed like that to me, and I was very happy about it. I really liked that there was another character who is ready for anything for a person who sincerely believes in. I'm not exaggerating if I say that I would be sorry to tears if everything turned upside down. I really really don't want him to be made a traitor, but I can't help but feel that this is where it's headed. All this talk about how terrible the Empire is, and everyone there is ready to stick a knife in the back of yesterday's friend ⦠no, guys. Not every. Brierly Ronan would have kicked anyone in the face for even suggesting he had an idea to betray Krennic. Eli went to hell knows where on the orders of Thrawn and was always there for him, helped in everything and also did not have a single thought of betrayal, except for the very beginning, when they were still strangers to each other. And even at that moment: he still stood up for Thrawn. Alfren Cheno sacrificed his career in general - he was also lucky that he did not go to prison - for the sake of Thrawn, because he saw in him the future of the imperial fleet. Lorth Needa died because he chose to do the right thing and not set up his subordinates. I'm not justifying the Empire as a whole - I'm just saying that in it system there are was came across normal people who had their own attachments. It is not necessary that they all collapse over time, because someone wanted to show off.
Seriously, I'm very upset. I hope it just seemed to me and others, and in fact, Heert simply felt Dedraās insecurity and therefore spoken in instead of her, and he carries out orders in advance, because he knows her well and strives to do a better job. Tony, please don't take this kind and warm part away from me:"Ń
I decided to dedicate this post to Syril's mother, because I categorically do not like the attitude towards her, which I observe in most fans who have watched Andor. Of course, they have every right to think as they see fit, but I also have the right to write about my disagreement, right? :)
I see Eedy being called a monster all the time. A terrible, monstrous woman who drives her child into cruel limits. But honestly? During the time she was on the screen, I absolutely did not have the feeling that I was looking at an abusive parent who hates her child. On the contrary, I am convinced, at least for the time being, that Eedyā¦loves Syril? Yes, exactly. It seems to me that she sincerely loves her son and wishes him all the best.
Does she make serious mistakes along the way? Yes, undoubtedly, and naturally, this is reflected in the character and personality of Syril. I remember how she began to annoy him about a new job and plans for the future, when his whole life collapsed literally a day ago, if not less. But she isā¦doing it out of good intentions? Oddly enough, I think so. Have you noticed how at the very beginning she pours him cereal and then pushes a dish of meilurans so that he can eat at least something? Like⦠I don't think a really terrible mother would do that. Rather, she would demand to "wipe the snot" and take care of himself. I can think wrong, of course. But I also thought of something else: in Syril's room we see his children's toys, those same clone figures. Given his condition, it is unlikely that he himself rushed to sort things out and put them on the shelves, and we know that he has not lived with his mother for a long time. Looks like they've been there the whole time. And she didn't even put them away, let alone throw them away! I understand that this may seem like a trifle, but believe me, it is the little things that often add up in general picture. We do not know why she is so eager to push her son "into the people", as we say in Russia, but we do not have any information about Syril's father. It is possible that Eedy raised him alone, it was not somple, and she simply acted to the best of her understanding. She thought that it would be better for him and that if he did everything right, he would get a ticket to a good and decent life.
I repeat, all this does not remove her guilt for her mistakes, constantly devaluation of Syril's choices and unwillingness to listen to him even now, when he is already an adult, and it does not take much work to understand that Syril does not like her behavior. She's done her damage, and there's nothing to be done about it now. She definitely cannot be called a good and even more so ideal mother. And yet⦠I don't think she deserves to be called a monster. Loving your child, but demanding too much from him and limiting his self-expression is certainly bad, and it should be condemned, but this is not the same as hating him. I hope someone understands what I'm trying to say here.
What do you think of Eedy? Is she a monster or just a person who does not understand that what she thinks Syril needs and what he really needs is not the same thing?
Suddenly I wanted to write about Arihnda. I came across some stupid post yesterday that I strongly disagreed with, but it got me thinking about this character, and I decided to give her five minutes of my time.
It so happened that at first I watched the Rebels in fragments, then I sat down to read the books of the new canon about Thrawn, and only then I watched the Rebels again, but as it should, from beginning to end without skipping. And all this time I didnāt like Arihnda Pryce terribly: she was written cool in the book, Zahn gave the character a character and personality, but personally I didnāt have much sympathy for her anyway. In the series, she is a simple spineless evil, which only does nasty things everyone around and is constantly angry at everything. And the way she interrogates Hera⦠More precisely, a correction: she does not interrogate her. She tortures her just like that, for enjoyment before start asking questions at all. Until the last episode, I didnāt feel anything for this character except irritation and a desire to punch a frying pan on her forehead.
But here's the finale⦠When she went out onto the balcony of the collapsing station, raised her head and perished in the fire, I was sorry for her almost to tears. I don't know why. I did not like her, I still do not justify any of her cruel and disproportionate actions.
I just want to understand⦠what was she thinking in her last moment, standing on the balcony of the collapsing station, before everything exploded? Why didnāt she go with the rebels, when they offered her, if not freedom, but at least life? Is it really out of loyalty to the Empire? Or did she simply decide to leave with honor, as far as she herself understood this concept, not wanting to accept help from Azadi? What if she had decided that death was better than the life of a disgraced criminal who would never be able to live in peace again anyway? Perhaps it was possible to "change skin", as did other imperial non-military officials. Many, like the same Amedda, even occupied some posts after the war, albeit nominally. She could disown everything, swear allegiance to the Republic, and earn yourself a not-so-bad existence, but⦠it would be an existence. Not life. And Arihnda, it seems to me, needs everything or nothing. She could have been patient, with the hope of some improvement in the situation in the future, that the Empire would return to Lothal and scatter new power in the corners. But then again, perhaps she basically didnāt want to nothing to go towards Azadi, and that is the point. And I can understand her.
Don't know. What do you think? Did you feel sorry for her or did you rejoice in her death? What do you think was in her head at that moment and what feelings did she experience?
