dark academia outfit inspiration
"Nothing exists except atoms and empty space; everything else is just opinion."
- Democritus
(Link to a Halloween inspired, fall dark academia playlist - updating frequently, because I'm loving the weather)
oh to wear a warm woollen sweater and read books in the midst of a forest all day long while sipping hot coffee
Okay but really I have a serious problem with this website and its aversion to engaging critically with media you love. I know I'm not the first person to say this but when I say classic lit is often misogynistic I don't mean "you shouldn't read classic lit" or "all classic lit is bad". I mean that when you read it you should be aware of the context. You should think about whether you really agree with what the author is saying. And you can absolutely decide that you don't agree, and still love the book. The quest for absolute moral purity results in boring, narrow literature but the complete uncritical acceptance of problematic themes is every bit as ignorant. You need both.
got a new jobβ¦ im the person who passes the objects in front of the fire in platoβs cave

dark academia but itβs online school
- waking up early in the morning to watch the sunrise, even though you donβt actually need to
- staying up late to read or paint because you donβt have to get up early
- handwriting assignments that should be typed and submitted digitally
- having a coffee cup with you, rather than a thermos because you donβt have to take it anywhere
- still getting ready and dressed so that you can feel focused on your work in the mornings
- emailing your teachers to see if they have any extra reading related to the topic
- turning in all of the assignments for the week earlier than the rest of your class because you wanted to finish them early
- not doing any assignments for the week because you were too interested in researching about different planets or the deep sea
