the reason brusty dynamic changed in s3 wasn't because it got "too gay" it was because brock realized his job was stagnant with the ventures and that doc doesn't care about anything but himself. it was a reasonable character development for brock. man was placed on shit detail for 20 years -> man's idol comes back into his life and brock finally realizes he too can go AWOL and make the change in his life he craves -> man realizes his boss doesn't give a shit about him -> man goes back to devoting his loyalty to the only place and people who have ever made him feel worthwhile.
