She shrugged. “I’m excited to see what the decorations are, and what ohter people are wearing, but I’m not much a of a social butterfly. Large dances aren’t really for me.”

“Thank you. I would like to see your dress when it’s all finished. If that’s okay with you.”
“Of course. I’ll make sure to find you at the dance.”

“I don’t think a first year is going to fully comprehend what’s going on. They just see all the fun.” Henriette shrugged. “But I’m sure the faculties are taking all the precautions.”
“You’re right. Besides, Sarah lives for adventure. It’s no surprise she’s a gryffindor. I really hope so. There’s too many ways this could go wrong.”

“Trust me, I’m happy to be just a spectator for this particular school event.”
“So am I. It’s weird seeing how excited everyone else is. My sister’s a first year, and the way she goes on about it,you’d think it was the only thing that mattered.”

His smile said he already knew that. “Better get to work then. Your dress isn’t going to make itself.”
“Thank you again.” She nodded. “You’re right. I guess I’ll see you at the dance then.”

“No thanks,” She said, eyes a little wide. “Don’t really know what I’d use it for.”
Ruth sighed “I don’t know either. I hate seeing it go to waste though. Maybe I’ll just make a dress for my sister. If you know of anybody who might like some blue chiffon, let me know.”

“There’s almost nothing worse, for me at least, when someone where’s a color that completely clashes with the color of their voice.”
“I’ll make sure to wear gold more often then.

“Oh, you’re not the only one. I think so too.”
“Oh thank goodness. I just- I don’t see any reason why teenagers should be fighting dragons or things like that. I wouldn’t have entered if someone paid me.”

“I’m not sure yet. Not that big of a fan of dresses. I may wear a suit.”
“That’d be nice. A well-tailored suit looks nice on everyone.”

“That and the blue will make you look super pale.” Ophelia wasn’t that good at fashion, but she knew a bit. “The gold will just look nicer on you. In my opinion at least”
She nodded. “You’re right. It’s a little dark. I might make it into a headband or something... do you want it?”

“It should be fun though. A small chance to let loose and relax a bit. Get to know the other students a bit better.”
“Yes, I wish we didn’t have to have a tournament to have a fancy party though. I can’t be the only one who thinks it’s is overly dangerous, right? ”

Alice watched the girl’s words carefully, trying to access that way. “The gold matches your aura better,” she said.
“Really?” Ruth asked, intrigued. “Huh, I never thought about considering that.”

“How about choosing both colors instead of going back and forth?” That seemed reasonable.
It seemed so simple now. “Oh, of course! I could layer them, like this. You’re a genius!”

“Alright, but do let me know if I can help with anything.” Victoire was quite busy with all her coursework, but she would always put it aside to help a friend. It wasn’t like she had to worry about her own dress either. It was ordered from France shortly after the announcement and already safely tucked away for her. “Do you already have it designed? I’d love to see if you’re willing to share.”
“I will,” Ruth smiled. “I hope it won’t come to that. I’d hate to inconvience you; I’m sure you’re very busy. I didn’t design it myself, I’m afraid. It’s from a muggle sewing pattern. My brother bought it for me last christmas.” She held out the pattern envelope.

“Just pick one. I can’t make your mind up for you.” It was irritating being asked a question, only for the other to decide against his answer. “Pull a few all-nighters and maybe it’ll be done in time.”
“S-sorry,” Ruth’s faced turned scarlet. “I was asking for an opinion, I didn’t mean that you-” She nodded. “Maybe. Thank you for your help.”

“Happy to help. Your gown is going to look gorgeous.”
“Oh, I hope so. Thank you. What are you going to wear, if you don’t mind my asking?”

“How about you combine both? They look nice together,” Julien adviced with a smile on his face. “No worries, there’s still a little bit time. If you want, I can help you.”
“That’s a wonderful idea,” Ruth nodded. “They’re sheer enough that I might be able to layer them... how does this look?” She demonstrated. “Or I could add a sash. You’re already being really helpful.”
