it's years later, but temari still gets excited to go on dates. she used to put up a tough front, 'relenting' when shikamaru mentioned chestnuts-now she happily goes along but chestnuts are still a must.
shikamaru still feels his pulse race when he sees her walking down the stairs. it feels like the first time, where he's speechless and praying this goes somewhat according to plan (it didn't).
shikadai still thinks its gross when his parents smile at each other at the door, hiding his smile behind his video game. his parents catch him every time but say nothing, just mentions to not burn down the house while they're gone.
