Don't know if this is a hot take or not but the widespread agreement that Rangi is really mean all the time (when she really isn't) is both based on the oversimplification of her character in memes and sketches as well as the stereotype that lesbians are really aggressive, leading to people overplaying her anger and ignoring the aspect of kindness and loyalty that is really defining for her character actually.

funfact, i thought koko was canon in the books and the whole reason i read the books in the first place was because i thought i would get to see kyoshi getting over everything and learning to settle and raise a family with her wife.

That didn’t happen, but the books still blew my expectations. Genuinely. I was crashing out when kelsang died. And when they made a grave for yun.
