This!!! We've got a few asks in the queue about this and are actively making a large post (by that we mean right now we're still deep in the research phase) about it. The actual practice is nothing bad. It's a cultural practice and isn't anything to shame. The issue is the western idea of them that is completely inaccurate and even harmful

I feel like if I ever interacted with a tulpamancer irl, it'd be like:

"Hey, so I'm a tulpamancer, and-"

"Are you a Buddhist?"

"What?"

"Do you practice Tibetan Buddhism, and everything under that, or are you using it as a shield to pretend to be like a system, without actually being a system, all while using the guise of it being a "spiritual practice", while it's just appropriating an actual religion?"

I feel like people forget that tuplas come from appropriating an actual branch of a religion. People are so focused on "ohh, I get to have people in my head!" and not on the fact that they're making fun of people who dedicate their lives to a practice that is so old that they wouldn't be able to comprehend it. I'm not one of those who practice Buddhism, but I can at least respect it, and understand that tulpas are disrespecting those people.

And to think that there's a whole side of "systems" (both people who aren't systems and people who are misled into being part of these communities) who respect these people. This kind of stuff is why I'm on the anti side. :)
