No fucking joke, I was offered 4 days of film-set marshalling and I told him I was unavailable for one of the days but I could cancel. And he told me he’d potentially found someone else.
I reblogged this.
And not 20 mins later, he came back to me and said if I really want it, let him know now. So fuck. Wow.

Heres the main 3 parties plans and comments on Indigenous affairs, moving forward!!
👏👏👏👏
PLEASE REBLOG THIS EVEN IF YOU’RE NOT CANADIAN!!
This election is MASSIVELY important for Canada, for EVERY person in this country (and those planning to come here from other countries!) who is not a white, cis, hetero, able-bodied middle-aged male.
To every person who has ever reblogged an American politics post: PLEASE reblog Canadian politics for the next month! I know it’s boring and not aesthetic but this is a big deal.
American politics AFFECT CANADA GREATLY! We have seen a massive rise in conservative, alt-right, and islamophobic movements and political parties since 2016. We have seen a rise in violence since 2016. Quebec implemented law 21, an islamophobic law which bans religious symbols for anyone working in public office. This includes public school teachers, meaning children are exposed to a system centered around white-supremacist ideologies. This is super fucking important!
I don’t beg for reblogs, but I cannot express enough how crucial it is for us to go out and vote next month. Please follow @allthecanadianpolitics if you’re Canadian and figure out who you are voting for, how you’re getting there, etc. Plan ahead and GO VOTE!!

It’s true!

Bass Reeves was so dedicated to the law, he even arrested his own son Bennie for the murder of his wife. Bennie was sentenced to life in prison. With over 3000 arrests, 14 kills, went his entire 32 year career in law enforcement without being shot once.
He was assigned to bring in the notorious female outlaw Belle Starr. Once she got wind who was after her she turned herself into the federal court.
Reeves was one of a few Marshalls who would venture into Indian territory *oklahoma*. After the age of 67 he retired in 1907. He enjoyed his short lived retirement as a police officer in Muskogee Oklahoma, his assigned beat had 0 crime reported until he died at the age of 71 of Bright’s disease.
He was one of the true gun slingers of the west.
I would expect nothing less from a man with such a magnificent mustache
I love the story of Bass Reeves!
One of his famous tactics was, if he was captured or in danger by a criminal he was hunting down, he would ask them to read a letter from his wife before they killed him. He used their distraction to free himself and get the upper hand.
He was also a freed slave. George Reeves, his owner and reason for his surname, took Bass with him to fight in the Civil War. However, George became violently angry after Bass beat him at a card game, and Bass was forced to fight him (or kill, on some accounts) in self defense.
After running away and entering Native American territory, Bass learned how to speak the languages of the ‘Five Civilized Tribes’ (Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Muskogee, Seminole). This part of his life is where he mastered marksmanship. He got married and had a family after the Emancipation Proclamation was declared, and then later became a Marshal, going on the adventures listed above (and many more… Another famous criminal that Bass captured was Bob Dozier.)
He was the very first black US Marshal. May we never forget him, as history would suffer to lose such an outstanding figure.
Who could have seen this coming when the president chose to divert defense money to build his border wall?
Good news for those looking to take back the senate.

“The companies have wrested control of land, deforested it, and helped build a controversial highway to their new terminal in the one-time jungle, all to facilitate the cultivation and export of grain and soybeans.”
“Schwarzman, a founder of Blackstone, owns roughly a fifth of the company, making him one of the world’s richest men. In 2018, he was paid at least $568 million, which was, in fact, a drop from the $786 million he made the year before. He has been generous toward McConnell and [t]rump with that wealth. In 2016, he gave $2.5 million to the Senate Leadership Fund, McConnell’s Super PAC and put Jim Breyer, McConnell’s billionaire brother-in-law, on the board of Blackstone. Two years later, Schwarzman kicked in $8 million to McConnell’s Super PAC.
“Blackstone employees have given well over $10 million to McConnell and his Super PAC over the years, making them the biggest source of direct financing over McConnell’s career. McConnell’s Senate campaign declined to comment.
“Schwarzman is a close friend and adviser to [t]rump, and served as the chair of his Strategic and Policy Forum until it fell apart in the wake of the Charlottesville neo-Nazi rally, in which [t]rump famously praised 'very fine people, on both sides.’ In December 2017, as the final details of the GOP tax cut were being ironed out, Schwarzman hosted a $100,000-a-plate fundraiser for [t]rump. Some of [trump’s] dinner companions complained about the tax bill, and days later, [t]rump slashed the top percentage rate in the final package from 39.6 to 37.
…"Bolsonaro has plans to pave significantly more roads in the Amazon that have otherwise been impassable much of the year, a project made feasible by international financing.
…"Of course, Hidrovias is also involved in paving B.R.-163 and other development projects in the region. Those projects, such as the paving of the highway, have additional indirect — though entirely predictable — consequences, as they spur side roads that make previously difficult-to-reach areas of the Amazon accessible for mining, logging, or further deforestation.
…"A Blackstone spokesperson noted that the fund only owns 9.3 percent* of Hidrovias. But that ignores the 55.8 percent of Hidrovias that is owned by Pátria Investimentos. On Hidrovias’s website, Pátria is described as a company ‘in partnership with Blackstone,’ and it is known in the financial industry to be a Blackstone company.”
*Pay no attention to claimed percentages of ownership. What goes on behind ownership curtains is fluidly incestuous. For example, from April 2019:
Blackstone transferred its 35% stake in Brazilian real estate developer Alphaville Urbanismo to its partner Pátria Investimentos. Blackstone
“Blackstone transferred its 35% stake in Brazilian real estate developer Alphaville Urbanismo to its partner Pátria Investimentos. Blackstone and Pátria originally invested R$1.4b in June 2013 for a 70% stake in the company. The two firms formed a partnership in 2010 and Blackstone retains a 40% stake in Pátria.”

"Why is the USDA bailing out plants operated by the biggest meatpacker in the world?" asks an activist.
Every American farmer who has lost their Chinese market for soybeans – all of them – should be wondering how it was that trump “woke up” one morning with his idea of a trade war with China. Had his close friend Schwartzman told trump the Brazilian road and terminal were ready?
There is no question that the Amazon rainforest is burning right now to open new farm land in order to meet China’s soybean market.
I wanted Blackstone to get fucked prior to this, now…now I want them to

Astonishing bravery of boy who risked his life to save baby deer in Bangladesh river by holding it above raging floodwaters
Boy called Belal defiantly held the young fawn in one hand above his head
Onlookers were unsure whether the boy was going to appear again

Teenager jumped into river in Noakhali, Bangladesh to save animal
A brave boy fearlessly risked his own life and showed astonishing bravery to save a helpless baby deer from drowning.
The boy, called Belal and believed to be in his early teens, defiantly held the young fawn in one hand above his head as he plunged through the surging river.
During the ordeal onlookers were unsure whether the boy was going to appear again.
When he finally made it to the other side the locals cheered as the deer was reunited with its family.
The incident took place in Noakhali, Bangladesh, when the young fawn became separated from its family during torrential rain and fast-rising floods.
Wildlife photographer Hasibul Wahab captured the brave act while visiting on a photography trip.
He said the Noakhali locals lose a lot of deer during the rainy season and that they have to do all they can to protect them.
He said: ‘He was such a brave boy - the river was so full of water and it was high tide so we thought he might drown.
‘My friend was even ready to jump into the river to save the boy. But he made it, and when he returned, we thanked the boy.
‘There were only five to seven people observe this situation but it was a phenomenal sight.’
Now that’s a hero. People like this boy are the only thing keeping me from giving up on humanity.
