ive got some big ideas on how to make forcemasc not lame but no one lets me speak because they hate to see a woman in a male dominated field (making girls into boys)
Online discussions of forcemasc are characterized first and foremost by a fundamental lack of recognition as to the sexual dynamics at play in forcefem and what has made it such a culturally pervasive fetish. My intent in this manifesto is to lay down a set of qualities that would allow forcemasc to be more in line with its sister fetish in terms of the erotic elements at play, and to answer the question as to what forcemasc could bring to the table if fostered into an actually viable site of erotics instead of an excuse for guys to make vaguely sexually charged captioned images of tim roth in reservoir dogs. In order to do this I have created the following loose set of three rules to follow when making forcemasc fetish art:
Forcemasc can not be in good taste:
One of the single most defining differences between forcemasc and forcefem is the question of good taste. A lack of familiarity with regards to forcefem has caused it to be primarily thought of as a fetish that sexualizes the desire to transition and the joys of becoming a self actualized woman, which can not be further from the truth. The appeal derives from it being an implicitly misogynistic and transphobic fetish, in which becoming a transgender woman is entering a fundamentally humiliating and degraded position. This is why it carries an audience primarily composed of cisgender men and repressed transgender women, as it sexualizes the anxieties and fears that surround transitioning from male to female. Forcemasc, in contrast, is very pro transition - it idealizes the confidence and strength one obtains while transitioning, which is why it has an audience primarily composed of actual transitioning transgender men, but very little audience of cis women and repressed transgender men. My first rule is that forcemasc needs to overtly indulge the sexual neuroses and self hatred of its audience - in order for masculinity to be forced, it must be actively detrimental and miserable for the victim. In other words: in the sexual dynamics of forcemasc, transitioning should be the worst thing that can ever happen to you. The following rules likewise will dismiss the question of good taste entirely, and will intentionally follow certain reactionary lines of thinking regarding gender, homosexuality, and transitioning that are obviously not representative of my actual beliefs.
Forcemasc must prioritize the loss of womanhood:
In forcefem, sexual appeal often derives not from the shift to womanhood, but rather the loss of manhood. In fact, forcefem very rarely even gives its victims the end point of being a woman, hence the popularity of terms like “sissy” or “femboy” - the victim is barred access from the role of a “complete” woman, and must instead exist within a denigrated feminized underclass that exists below womanhood and manhood. Likewise, forcemasc should prioritize the loss of femininity and by extension womanhood. Much like how a victim of forcefem is rendered weak and ineffectual before being rendered feminine, a victim of forcemasc should be stripped of the “positive” attributes associated with womanhood before they are given traits of manhood. The most obvious potential shift here would be a loss of beauty and desirability. Here is the first big sexual neurosis that should underline forcemasc, the fear of becoming undesirable. The second one is that of morality. Women are conventionally thought of as the more mature, self sacrificing, and ethical of the sexes, and forcemasc should likewise fetishize the loss of maturity and good morals. All of this is important because of the frequency with which forcemasc, when not having its victims becoming self actualized, masculine men, has them becoming effeminate gay bottoms. This is important to avoid. A lot of the time this is treated as the inevitable end result of making a woman into a man: the creation of a “man with a hole” ie, symbolically, a man who is a feminized underclass. I want to discourage this idea, firstly because the shift from one feminized underclass - cisgender woman - to another feminized underclass - effeminate/bottom male - is not very erotically dynamic. Rather, the end result should be a “man without a penis” ie, symbolically, a man who is sexually incompetent, juvenile, and incapable, a much more meaningful shift from womanhood. Within common sexual neurosis, this is already the end result of transition. It closely aligns with existing transphobic stereotypes of transgender men as ugly, volatile, immature and overcompensating, all which serve to present transition as unappealing. There is some gesturing towards “incel-fication” type forcemasc in discussions regarding it but very little that places it at the forefront of the erotics, which should change, imo. The incel is also an ideal archetype to play with because, ideal for the forcemasc victim, there is the underlying sense of being “not enough of a man” but without any feminine characteristics. Not that it’s the only viable option, of course, that’s just an aside. There’s also value to the incel because it is a very obtainable shift. It is much easier to force someone to become a self hating, angry slob then it is to force someone to be confident and well maintained. Neurosis over certain features also works here, the fear of being too short or having too weak of a jawline or not having broad enough shoulders do not prohibit one from becoming an incel, but justify it.
The perpetrator of forcemasc should be emblematic of what is being lost:
This is less applicable to forcemasc in which a woman forces another woman to become a man, as the loss of womanhood is transparent in this situation, but it is very applicable to forcemasc in which a man forces a woman to become a man. Looking through the forcemasc tag there’s notably a lack of a clear cut distinguishing features attached to the perpetrator or dominant force, but if there is they are typically masculine. This is very much in opposition to forcefem, in which the perpetrator is presented in glaring opposition to the victim in terms of presentation. Although women perpetrators in forcefem are rarely full on butch (unsurprisingly, as the primary audience is cis males) they are often emblematic of a more conventionally masculine sort of power. They are always authoritative, often government officials or business women, or taking on some other predominantly male role. This is in large part to emphasize the fact that the victim has been stripped of their own masculinity - the perpetrator has become emblematic of power that they have lost. I would argue that the ideal perpetrator in forcemasc should, likewise, be representative of the desirability and competency that has been stolen from the victim. The perpetrator should have at least a handful of explicitly feminine traits, and be characteristically put together, seductive and well groomed, and not emblematic of a traditional masculinity. This firstly emphasizes the victim as between the two of them being the “man” in the relationship, further masculinizing them. Importantly, as well, it feeds into neurosis regarding sexuality. Interest in a man who is not conventionally masculine suggests a repressed break from traditional heterosexual interests on the part of the victim, that the perpetrator can use to exploit and humiliate them. Therefore, the ideal forcemasc perpetrator would ideally be a sort of “manipulative effete” archetype - think Griffith from Berserk. Also of note here is another significant neurosis attached to transitioning, the common stereotype that Yaoi gives women rapid onset gender dysphoria. The fujoshi as a victim is ideal, as typically fujoshis are imagined as perverse and objectifying, both traits that forced masculinization would draw out. But it also creates an interesting erotic dynamic between the victim and perpetrator. While the perpetrator is emblematic of a sort of “real” cisgender gay man, explicitly effeminate, male, and interested in men, the victim is made into a sort of ineffectual agender pervert with a lecherous eye towards the perpetrator. The role of the voyeur associated with fujos also fits comfortably into the previously discussed category of the sexually incompetent and perverse male.
best kind of character development is where they don't actually become better people in any sense of the word but instead just grow increasingly psychologically dependent on another person for their entire sense of self and value in the world until they define themselves utterly by their place in that other person's world
