Simon is a hitman (unfortunately well-known as the “Butcher”) who doesn’t like his job and barely scrapes by, grew up in a cult and doesn’t know affection

I like to think that in a No Astrophage AU, Grace is letting Simon crash in his place for a while (because of circumstances, we move on) and one day he's at work and Simon is cleaning around when he hears the door open. And he's like "Ryland is at work, it's gotta be an intruder" because of course. So he grabs the nearest weapon-ish thing he can and rushes to the kitchen to find fucking.
