There’s nowhere in existence you could go that I wouldn’t find you, Violence.
violet: he’s probably thinking about other girls
xaden: I need to figure out a way to attach the tiny dragon to the big dragon

considering to have an onyx storm reread because the jump into heavy politics and high-stakes situations was a lot to process. i actually didn't really understand much and ended up having even more questions at the end of the book. there was just so much happening and i really wish that i could have enjoyed onyx storm, as much as i enjoyed fourth wing and iron flame. those prior books have such a special place in my heart.
i want to blame the fact that i was still grieving xaden's transition into vernin that i couldn't fully grasp everything that was happening. while i did take time to read other books to fill the void, coming back to onyx storm was still a fever dream because there was just. so. much. happening. all at once.
i tried reading the assassin's blade as the introduction to the throne of glass series and while i did not enjoy the slowburn, i did enjoy the character develop celaena sardothien had. a lot of the quests and challenges she went through were quite memorable. like i'd read this book ages ago (during the pandemic) and still remember the snake scene, her falling in love, taunting the dudes and them discovering she was still a kid, so on. especially with acotar 6 and 7 supposed to come out, i've considered reading through the series but i am not sure if my patience could withstand a slowburn again.
acowar is pretty slow through the middle (chapter 30 as of now) and i can see that there are somethings happening between elain and azriel. while subtle, it's clear that elain isn't taking interest in reciprocating the mating bond between lucien (at least, not yet).
so i am on chapter 27 of acowar and the slowburn is highkey putting me in a slump. i get that the twists, turns and betrayals are coming in now to set the high stakes atmosphere. but wow i am in dire need of some illyrian combat vs. keir right now… mor is stronger than me because i would’ve rained hell on rhys… i swear mor has been through so much i just wanna give her the biggest hugs and take her out on a girls’ night. she would love pilates and matcha. trust me.
a court of mist and fury… chapter 49… page 488…
