It has been a rollercoaster ride. My mom is still in the ICU.
Her lungs have cleared up BUT they had to increase her Oxygen flow because her lungs are still stiff and weak.
She was diagnosed with GBS, it’s an autoimmune disorder, her own immune system is attacking her nerves—that’s why she still can’t move her limbs, except for one of her feet.
They had to do a Tracheostomy (they created an opening at the front of her neck) last Monday because she has been intubated for a total of 21 days and the doctors needed to move it to avoid causing infection or damage to her throat.
Because of the surgery, air got under her skin but it is slowly subsiding.
Today, her blood pressure dropped and noticed her urine has lessened in quantity. And the medicine that’s suppose to help her kidney is not working and she has to go through dialysis tonight, yes—TONIGHT.
I still have faith that she will continue to fight and will recover from this. I can’t imagine how painful this must all be for her.
It’s heartbreaking, and it feels like someone is reaching inside inside of me and squeeze my heart, It’s becoming hard to breathe.
