fun thing about herding and/or generally neurotic breeds: they are really good at following rules you have instituted, but they will also make their own Dog Rules they will follow stringently whether or not you like it
despite never being reprimanded for getting sick if my dog throws up she will ‘tattle’ on herself and run over to me, show me the throw up, then hide and start shaking uncontrollably. nobody taught her to do this. she has decided that throwing up is a punishable offense until the end of time
my dog has decided that it’s solely on her shoulders to ensure there is peace in my house…if the cats fight she stands between them to ‘break it up’ and/or herds them away, if my rats have an argument she goes to the cage door and barks until they stop. not sure why she has decided she must carry the weight of the world but she has
Where is the International protection the Palestinian people is entitled to when the occupying power violates international law and harms those it is obliged to protect. Aren't Palestinians lives worth saving?

This could be my last report from Gaza by Tareq S. Hajjaj. Please read.
I think about this literally all the time
Hey, this isn't dunking on people who like or use labels like this, but I think there's a bit of a push in online spaces to figure out every facet of your identity through intense self-introspection and increasingly obscure microlabels that just... isn't really necessary. If your gender or sexuality is stressing you out in a way that isn't beyond your control (i.e. dysphoria or facing transphobia/homophobia), just take a step back and realize that if no label ever clicks for you, you can just grab the nearest umbrella term and go. It's that simple. If you do see a more obscure label and go "Yesss, that's me!" good for you, but you literally don't have to.
Anyway I want to tell bi girls, especially with how disgustingly biphobic twitter has been, that if you have a preference for men, don’t feel obligated to try and make yourself seem more “gay.” You’re enough. Don’t suppress your attraction for temporary validation. Your love for all genders is real & valid. you shouldn’t feel restricted or that you have to make fifty wlw moodboards and strip your pages of any mention of men to prove your worth to biphobes. Men are hot. Talk about how much you find them attractive without shame.
These are probably the best things ever. EVER.
mythbusters was so good because it wasn't a killjoy show. they didn't just say "see, it doesn't work" and leave it there
whenever they find that the stunt doesn't work as portrayed in the movie, they immediately ask "what would it take to make this happen?"
“we know it takes this amount of explosives to work, but what if we doubled it anyway?”
Some myths I'll always remember:
* Are elephants scared of mice? (They only did that because they were in Africa and had access to elephants.)
* Will a bull run amok in a china shop?
* Is it better to run zig-zag or straight when chased by an alligator?
I love these because NONE of them turned out the way they expected. They went into all three with pre-conceived ideas of how it would go, and each time they "failed." Elephants WILL cower from mice. A bull moves very gingerly through a china shop. It doesn't matter how you run because ALLIGATORS WON'T CHASE YOU.
And each time, they reacted with just... pure glee. "Holy shit, we were wrong! Oh my god! This is great! We were so wrong!"
And that, to me, is what science is. Being excited about being wrong because either way it's information.
Reddit’s nursing forum makes for some pretty grim reading.
A hydra appendix. With every appendectomy, two more regrows
Searching for the Crab, found the Hydra
As it turns out, a worm was just discovered that is actually like this, Ramisyllis multicaudata:
This is a good article to read more: https://www.gizmodo.com.au/2021/05/this-worm-has-100-butts/
To quote said article:
“The team also found that the worms’ branching is well beyond skin deep. Incredibly, every time Ramisyllis forks itself, all the internal organs divide, too: The gut, the nerves, everything splits and runs the length of the branch. This also creates a unique, muscular band or “bridge” that threads between the organs every time the critter splits. These bridges can visually demarcate Ramisyllis’ main trunk, which is pretty useful when you’re observing an animal shaped like a tumbleweed.
The farther you get away from the head, the weirder the worm gets. Aguado and her colleagues were able to closely examine the tips of the branches, which are crucial for the species’ reproduction.
When Ramisyllis decides it’s time to procreate, its abundance of wandering derrières go through a transformation. The branch ends basically convert into genitals, filling with eggs or sperm. These reproductive units (or “stolons”) grow eyes and their own brains. When mature, the stolons detach and swim away, their freshly acquired “head” and eyes steering them to mate with stolons of the opposite sex. What started as a wriggling snarl of buttholes becomes a swarm of autonomous, sex-seeking torpedoes.”
Is it not enough to simply have a hundred anuses? Must you also use them?
