If Christmas did not come at all
And if there was no birth
And if there was no silent night
Then we would really be in trouble
And would wish we had the chance
To open up our cold, cold hearts
But there was that Christmas
And there was the virgin birth
And there was that silent night
But still no peace on Earth
For peace is born within each soul
Where Christ is warned and cuddled
And until the day we freely love
No peace will touch the world
The friendly smile, the tender touch
The warmth of loving kindness
Will bring peace to empty hearts
And christ’ will walk among us
And as we see the little babe,
Asleep in the cold, cold hay
We taste the peace of the wise men
On that first Christmas Day
For when He came He brought us gifts
Of love and our free will
And in that love, we are one
So if on Christmas morning
You taste His gift of love
