A roll of fabric is unravelled, a sheet of plain white ready to be molded into whatever the seamstress desired, Although compared to the clean white the space around it was the complete opposite of it, to say that their workshop was cluttered is an understatement as needles, pins and button were thrown about the room, yarns tangling with one another as if it were a spinirack’s web.
“I should probably take a nap. . . Maybe that'll get the creative juices flowing.” It said with a sigh as it attempted to lessen the clutter that was in front of them, lazily putting them into piles they would organize later.
The seamstress left his workshop and entered the kitchen with a yawn, it was early in the morning as the sun had not risen up but the sky still stayed bright. The sky had appeared different as of recent as ever luminescent stars had decorated the sky, no matter what time it was the stars would always remain visible.
“Morning Salt lamb, did you get any sleep?” Raixu asks who is already wearing their uniform,.as he enters the kitchen whilst he gives Quartz a little kiss on its cheek.
Quartz didn't want to but as guilt dripped he shook head to Raixu’s question, causing the other to frown at the seamstress.
“Quartz. . . Please get some rest, if not for you would you do it for me?” Raixu held the Seamstress’ cold hand, his face sporting a worried look.
“I'll try Lemon pie, you know how I am, sometimes I remember when things were simple… like when Safrina was still with Momma Topaz, and I didn't have to worry about much.” Quartz replied, giving a kiss to his lover's hand. A red hue quickly showed itself on Raixu's face, he separated his hand from it as the ranger began to make breakfast for the two. Quartz was capable of serving meals, but the two would rather be safe than sorry and they would rather not deal with a kitchen fire this early.
“And didn't you only meet me because you had to leave your mum's place? Are you suggesting you want a life before we met? Oh how dreadful!” Raixu dramatically said, a small giggle escaping him.
“What‽ Of course not Raixu! Let me rephrase that, I just wish that our lives are normal, not ones that are so hectic, you could have met Mom and Safrina wouldn't hate me.” He let out a breath they didn't know they were holding, he was unsure on how and why it happened. But ever since they started living by themselves his little sister had become more and more distant, he's happy that she's happy where she is now but. . . Nowadays she's never smiled as bright as she used to.
“Oh I'm just messing with you Salt lamb, also by the way you definitely need a therapist and there's your breakfast darling. I have to go now, see you!” Raixu gave a kiss on Quartz cheek before leaving the house for work, letting the seamstress think about their own thoughts.
They looked upon the dish that their beloved had made, a ‘kalosian breakfast’ that seemed like a delicacy compared to what Quartz's had been eating as of recently. The seamstress, not wanting to waste Raixu's efforts, took a bite of the meal; she slowly ate as it wanted to savor the flavor. And as the meal was finished, Quartz had quickly taken the dirty dishes in order to clean them.
The lukewarm water running through his fingers was a soothing activity for the seamstress. So they took their time, making sure that each plate and utensil was squeaky clean. Although he sighs with a tired expression upon their face, he begins to organize the tableware swiftly.
“I wonder what Safrina is doing right now. . . I hope she's doing alright, I'd text her but I doubt she'd respond to my texts. . .” He looks at neatly organized tableware, satisfied with their work, the seamstress exited the kitchen as their thoughts drowned out any sound that could be heard.
When Quartz returned to his workshop its gaze immediately landed on the table, the white fabric stayed where it was left, lifeless as it should be. A perfectly clean white sheet surrounded by an utter mess of sewing equipment, they let out a chuckle at the sight of it. They might as well have another reason to not work on the fabric, he opened empty containers and placed buttons, yarns and needles in neat little rows and columns. When it was all organized, he took a single needle and began to sew.
A beautiful outfit was the seamstress ' plan, one for their beloved to wear if they can. Ideas showed themselves, frills, sequences, ribbons and glitter galore! But it needed to be perfect for their beloved. As their head was up the clouds the needle they held had landed into their skin, stabbing it into his skin and making it bleed a ruby red liquid.
They dropped their pin at the sight and the sudden anguish they felt, what the. . ? What was that coming out of their flesh? Curiosity had overcome the pain they felt, staring at the liquid with an inquisitive look. Before Quartz could ask more questions to himself the doorbell rings, making the seamstress jump at the noise.
“I'm coming! Wait!” He stumbled as he made his way to the door. Who in Arceus’s name was at his door this early in the morning? Was it their beloved who forgotten something? As he neared the door Quartz felt something, their body had felt. . . Numb? As if something had drain them of energy.
When she reached the door, something tugged at him. Asking him to not open the door, but why? With none to answer his questions, the seamstress turned the doorknob. His body suddenly became immobile at the sight outside the door, why did he react like this? His eyes felt a tingle as tears began to form and slide off her face.
Two figures stand in front of Quartz, one was a young girl with dark brown hair with a large chunk of her bangs in a vivid purple. She wore a black sweater that was made out of wool, wooloo wool from the looks of it. And a light blue scarf that surrounded the girl's neck, said the girl just stared at him. Next to the girl was presumably the child's mother or guardian, the seamstress was unsure on why but whenever their gaze was at the woman its tears multiplied.
“Oh gemstone… you said that you weren't feeling well, but we thought it was just because you got sick.” The woman said, her voice was like the beginning of spring. Warm, safe, and it helped the numbness go away.
“I-” Before Quartz could even utter a word, The woman quickly shushed him before she quickly gave it a hug.
“It's okay Quartz. It's going to be okay, my sparkling gemstone Mama Topaz is here.” Topaz assured him, letting the seamstress cry onto her shoulders. Why was it feeling these emotions? And why oh so suddenly? It didn't know but it wanted them to leave it alone. So he cried, she did not care if someone would watch them let their tears all out. The comfort was there, why not let it comfort it?
