On Prairieland: Anti-fascist Action is now "Terrorism" in the USA
Y'all, the Prairieland sentencing should trouble EVERYONE. 50 years for being a part of a demonstration against ICE. 30 years for not even being at the demonstration, but for moving magazines with anti-fascist messaging (I mean LITERALLY MOVING a box in his house).
Yes, one man discharged a weapon: at the ground as suppressive fire when he saw an officer with weapon drawn chasing after an unarmed protestor. In the wake of Alex Pretti and Renee Good's deaths, he fired his legal weapon at the ground and the ricochet hit an officer. I'm not really interested in your opinions on his actions, of course he was going to get the book thrown at him, but he is a firearms instructor and Marine Vet who has vehemently denied acting with intent to harm or kill. You can read his own words about it here.
But the others, that's what really troubles me and many people I know: 50 years for being at a protest, wearing black clothes, moving zines now = terrorism charges. Black clothing is all I wear. I've been at numerous protest alongside legal gun owners and carriers. I've been at numerous protests where people have set off fireworks or passed out anti-fascist messaging or simply made noise outside a detention center. And I've witnessed the police - ATL PD & LAPD discharge "less than lethals" in a violent ways directly at people's heads and faces; I've helped patch up the wounded - people who have been cut or bruised and at least one who has lost his eye from these weapons (a passerby who wasn't even part of the protest happening!) Been pepper sprayed and tear gassed. I've watched mounted cops trample people. Seen others push protestors violently to the ground, against objects, down stairs. All for exercising our First Amendment Rights in ways they didn't like. Against the tide of fascism in our country.
The Prairieland defendants have all received harsher sentences than ANYONE who participated in January 6th. Who boldly and proudly threatened to KILL members of our government. Who hurt and KILLED a police officer.
This is where we're at folks.

Similar to the egregious miscarriage of the "justice" system over the Filton 4 in the UK who were found guilty of property damage and then retroactively concluded to be found guilty of terrorism, the Prairieland Defendants have now been sentenced to obscene prison times for the grave violent terroristic acts of "being at a protest", "carrying a box of zines" and "being near someone they think shot at cops"
Anti-ICE activists received lengthy prison terms — including a 100-year sentence — in the first major trial of the NSPM-7 era.
The 30 year sentence was the shortest, with all other defendants receiving 50 years (5 defendants) 70 years, and for the alleged shooter of a cop, 100 years. All are accused of being part of an "antifa terror cell", something the US department of justice issued in a press release as "fact" and asswipes like the Washington Post and others have continued to use their language to suggest that protesting ICE makes one part of a terrorist organization.
Support the people fighting against these vile sentences.

Ok this is insane
And stay safe everyone!
oh tumblr staff definitely noticed the transphobe allegations and put the entire lgbtq+ in it LMAO
Happy Pride Month to those two women dancing together in the foreground of the boat scene in Godzilla (1954).
I’m sorry your romantic foibles were overshadowed by a big ass atomic lizard thing.
Edit: this post is blowing up so I’m gonna shamelessly plug my art account. Follow me and I’ll draw the Godzilla lesbians @thenonbinaryfriendnamedcrumb
2nd edit: Yes. Female friends dance with eachother. But why can’t they be lesbians?? I’ve seen people on this website ship two men for astronomically less.

Everytime someone says “All religion is a cult” an Angel loses their wings.
Like it’s so disrespectful to cult survivors to say that. Especially cult survivors that are still religious. AND ESPECIALLY to cult survivors who got out BECAUSE of their strongly held religious beliefs.
Like don’t water down what a cult is because you want to win some morality contest that you made up. At least pretend to have some respect for the people that went through this.
Bro got a bed in the backrooms. 😭
love when someone is like "how can you be catholic when there's xyz doctrine or they did xyz bad historical thing" and it's like first of all i'm a post Vatican II Catholic so jot that down. and secondly i'm very James Baldwin “I love America more than any other country in this world, and, exactly for this reason, I insist on the right to criticize her perpetually” but about the Catholic church.
something i think is funny is that the last surviving veteran of the Irish War of Independence was this man named Daniel Keating who died in 2007 at the age of 107 and not only did he fight in the independence war but also in the Irish Civil War on the anti-Treaty side (also he attempted to assassinate Eoin O'Duffy, the leader of Ireland’s fascist movement who had also orchestrated the torture and massacre of anti-Treaty captives) and his whole life was a vocal supporter of the IRA and considered the official government to be illegitimate British collaborationists and refused every honor and even pension offered to him from the Irish state and like it must’ve been awkward when he died bc the government would want to honor him but also he very stubbornly despised it
"Jesus would support the billionaires and elites and mega churches!!!"
Jesus, biblically: literally give away all of your money
Queer Catholics, especially transgender Catholics, are the modern-day martyrs of the church in the western world but conservative Catholics don’t like it when you point that out
