Carmax warranty my beloved
Heard a car horn today that was tuned to a fifth. Fucked up, kinda delightful
I want people to understand how jarring this was. Most car horns are either a single tone or two tones somewhere in the neighborhood of a minor third apart:
Pretty normal rush hour sounds, yeah? But this thing sounded something like this:
Fucked up! Didn't even realize it was a car horn at first, I didn't know what the fuck it was! It was weird as hell!
Volvo 240 Turbo, 1981. This was Volvo's first turbocharged passenger car, part of an effort to add excitement to its safe but dull image. It was based on the robust B21ET engine, boosted to 155hp driving the rear wheels through a 4-speed manual with electric overdrive. It is pictured with the Volvo PV4, which was Volvo's first saloon car, produced from 1927 to 1929.
Retro/pre-2000 car designs.
Names under cut (assuming tumblr doesn't destroy the quality):
I JUST WANT PURPLE TOOLS FOR WORK SO I CAN IMMEDIATELY TWLL THEYRE MINE WHY IS EVERYTHING BLUE GREEN RED YELLOW OR PINK (inclusive to women obviously)???????? PLEASE I'LL PAY EXTRA FOR A PURPLE IMPACT WRENCH AND SOCKETS AND BATTERIES AND CASE PLEEEASE

My chevy cruze HAS A COOLANT LEAK!! GUY ABOHT CARS WAS RIGHT!! WATER PUMP IS FUCKED ANF THE RADIATOR HOSE IS BROKEN

BUT THE BITCH IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY LETS FUCKIN GO i can't wait to replace this car with one that doesn't fall apart every 8 months
Everyone hates changing tires, and I think it's because it's pretty repetitive. After the first dozen or so winter-to-summer and summer-to-winter tire changes, you've seen it all and done it all before. And if you work in a tire shop, things are even worse. What we need is some excitement around tire changes. That's why people buy trucks, I think.
Trucks have giant tires and heavy wheels. That makes them a physical burden to move around, which forces the development of new muscles and tactics to deal with them. Often, they have way too many lug nuts. That means strategy, organizational skill, and having to find new places to put the loose nuts without accidentally knocking them on the floor and having to crawl around like a ding-dong to find where all of them went.
Of course, this eventually wears off, too. It's worse if you're also one of the millions of children who are traumatized by being forced to be exposed to pickup trucks in youth. We need something that's more exciting than a pickup truck to change tires on. And for that, the military has spent your tax money wisely: on tanks. And I guess trucks there, too, but let's ignore that for the sake of argument.
Tanks don't have any tires. Instead, they've got this weird belty thing underneath them. Swapping that seems like a big challenge, even if you're used to both tires and accessory belts. Even Gates doesn't make an AC belt so heavy that it needs two government-trained folks to carry off.
Personally, I've never changed a set of tank treads. Not like I'm not trying, though. The armoury near my place has surprisingly crappy locks. I'm figuring I'll start changing the tires on a regular ol' four-bolt Civic in the parking lot, and see if that lures the mechanics out. They gotta be tired of tanks by now.
hmmm
I SAW A CHEVROLET SILVERADO (counterpart to the GMC Sierra in the original post) WITH THIS EXHAUST ON THE HIGHWAY THE OTHER DAY AND THOUGHT “ooh we’ve finally gone from HDMI
To microUSB!”
Very cool and innovative.
Honda Civic Ad - 1980
I LOVE DRIVING SAFELY AND MAKING SURE PEDESTRIANS AND CYCLISTS ARE SAFE BECAUSE I KNOW IM DRIVING A 2800 LB DEATH MACHINE AND THEY ARE JUST PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You've certainly heard this tossed around as a fun fact before, maybe you've dismissed it as a joke... But it's actually 100% true. The tanned hide of an animal stretched over a car seat imbues the vehicle with the respective animus, hence cars have such distinct temperaments.... Having found this out from a friend of an uncle on facebook marketplace, for weeks I fashioned my bespoke car seats from dog leather, yes, dog leather, there are now a couple dozen laika spirits bound to this honda civic. Nowhere will you find another car as loyal to its master. So no, I did not "randomly" swerve out of the lane officer. Fuck you.
This is true however it's worth mentioning that a Honda Civic is an extremely loyal car by default. Source: mine has cloth seats and it only "randomly" swerves out of lanes when I tell it to!
Okay wait i need to share some of the tags on this post because I love them
(RIP to El Scrapo btw 😔 @mindcool25 )
