omg yes! I definitely am!
How much alcohol does it take to make a baby Skywalker honest?
Um. Zero. I'm not super great at being dishonest to begin with.
However, if you're asking how much before it's basically truth serum?
Probably two. Two drinks. I'll tell you everything you never wanted to know.
Intoxicated AMA
I've been to the cantina, and I handle my drink like the Skywalker I am...
Hit me up.
Jacen Solo: Itâs family moments like these that Iâll never forget.
Ben Skywalker: With a good therapist, hopefully I will.
{I am stuck in an endless meeting. Please send asks for honesty hours}
{I am stuck in an endless meeting. Please send asks for honesty hours}
Ben Skywalker: Jacen, listen carefully. Life is a journey.
Jacen Solo: Uh-huh?
Ben Skywalker: That's all I got. I don't have any more advice. I'm fifteen.
Vestara Khai: Iâm morally grey.
Vestara Khai: That means I commit crimes but Iâm also hot.

The Skywalker Sibling Cycle
âWho was it?â Rey blurted, an instinctive response to Benâs words spoken before she could stop and think about if she really wanted to know â or the fact that even if Ben told her, what were the chance sheâd even recognize the name? (Unless it was Dosmit RĂŠh maybe, but the coincidence of that would be just about unfathomable.) Or, wait â hadnât Ben said that theyâd never told him who it was? But Uncle Han had found out, so maybe he could tell herâŠbut that again returned her to the question of if she even wanted to know.
Rey decided she didnât. Probably. Unless it was someone like Dosmit RĂŠh maybe. But the only way to find out who it was would be to find out who it was andâŠthat was weird, wasnât it? Was it? What did she know?
Whatever. Sheâd leave it in Benâs hands. That felt safeâŠright?
She smiled a little uncertainly as Ben assured her that the parties here were good. Rey wasnât sure what that meant and, after the story about their father, was a little afraid of finding outâŠbut parties were normal, right? Parties were fun. She should enjoy a party. She could learn to enjoy a party. Maybe a small one, without too many people. That could be niceâŠprobably. Yes. Yes it would be nice. Rey wouldnât let it not be. Hopefully.
âThatâsâŠa long line of very scary people,â Rey said slowly. She wasnât sure exactly why someone would be going through them to give her drinks she wasnât sure she wanted, but it still felt weirdly nice to hear Ben talk like that. Like she was someone that people cared about. Like she was family. Her smile spread a little wider across her face, still uncertain but growing. Settling. Maybe she was settling, too; settling in, like Chewbacca had assured her she would if she just gave herself a chance. âI think Iâll just follow your lead, and stick to one. Or none. Whatever you think you should do, thatâs what Iâll do,â Rey said, nodding decisively. âIâll take your advice on whatever topic you want to give it, Ben, thank you.
âButâŠfirst can you tell meâŠâ She leaned in, her eyes widening with fear. âWhatâs spice loaf?â
Ben grinned, happy that she found this story as hilarious as he did. He wasnât sure if heâd ever really considered what having a sister would have been like, but this was better than heâd ever really thought.Â
âDunno,â he answered with a reluctant shrug, âI wish I did, but they never told me. Of course, that just leads me to believe itâs someone I still know which is a pretty bizarre thing to know but not know... yâknow?âÂ
âit is, for sure. And even weirder, it seems like it gets longer the shorter you wish it was, if that makes any sense.â It probably didnât. He hoped he wasnât scaring her too much. After all, it was a great extended family to be a part of even if it could be a little bit intimidating at times.Â
âSpice loaf is a perfectly good meal most of the time,â he said, trying to figure out how to explain it. âItâs just like some different meats and like a bunch of seasonings formed into a lump. But like... a tasty lump? We can get some sometime and weâll see if you like it. We just wonât get it from Aunt Leia. If we can help it.âÂ
seikiravenâ:
Culinary Expedition
Seikira cackled at the idea of the battle-hardened hero Jaina Solo being distraught at the idea of being caught in a candid holo â not that she was the only person Seikira could name who felt that way about dealing with the holonews despite having survived years of deadly battle and victories over impossible odds. Still, most of the other people Seikira could think of who fell into that group hadnât literally grown-up under the prying eye of holotabloids and celebrity gossip. One might think Jaina would be used to it by now â but perhaps it was exactly that familiarity which inspired her dismay.
Her laughter faded with a last contemplative chuckle as she pondered Benâs statement about homeworlds. âThatâs interesting. I never really thought about it like that.â She was now, though. âI wonder how common that situation is.â She grinned at Ben. âIâll have to start asking the folks I know, get a list together. For starters, I know that mom doesnât hate Bespin, although she does get antsy being there for too long â but thatâs because she finds it cramped. Sheâs not used to living in small spaces like that anymore.â
Not that the family apartment on Coruscant was particularly spacious â only the obnoxiously rich could afford spacious accomodations on the crowded city-planet of the galactic capital â but small spaces on Coruscant were different from small spaces on Bespin. Bespin itself â the city, at least, which was the only habitable place on the swollen gas giant â was small, so the space around the space you were in was cramped, too. Coruscant on the other hand was divided into billions of cramped and crowded little slivers, but the city itself was enormous enough to encompass nearly the whole world. A being could walk from one end of Bespin to the other in less than two time parts, and that at a sedate pace. There was no surfeit of space on Coruscant; the city often seemed to go on forever and in a way, it did. There were no boundaries to the city of Coruscant, because the whole planet was the city. You couldnât ever reach the end because it circled infinitely back on itself forever.
âBut youâre right,â she said to Ben, pulling her thoughts back to the present, âI certainly feel like Coruscant is my home, even if Ryloth is my homeworld. And yeah,â Seikira grinned, âI like it here just fine. The companyâs nice, for one thing.â
She smirked at his thanks for her discretion in the nightâs food choices and said, âWell, I kind of figured that drugging the son of the Grand Jedi Master would fall into the category of âmistakes you only make once,â so I think I should save that for some time when itâll be really worth it, you know?â Not that Seikira had plans to drug either of them for any reason â but it would have been funny (and terrifying) to have realized too late that sheâd forgotten to absent the ryl from their dinner. Thank the Force her mother was human too, and she was used to considering the non-Twiâlek palette or she probably would have forgotten.
And then she probably would have had to fling herself out an airlock or something.
âIâve only been to Bespin twice. Itâs nice there, but I can see what she means. It is a little cramped. Although, I lived aboard the Shadow with Dad for so long that I suppose I could deal if I had to.âÂ
As soon as he finished his sentence, he couldnât help but wonder if it was intentional that heâd left out the portion of the trip when there had been three of them on board. He wasnât keen to talk about Vestara at all, let alone while he was out with a very smart and very pretty girl. But, he and his dad had lived aboard with just the two of them for a long time, so he decided it wasnât really a lie or an omission. At least, not to the point where it made him uncomfortable.Â
âMy home world is...â he thought for a moment. âI donât really know, I guess. I mean, Iâve lived on Coruscant probably the longest, but I remember being on Yavin IV, too...â he shrugged. âI guess home is where you feel it is, right?â
He flushed at her statement about the company and he knew it was probably pointless to hope she didnât see. It always showed up on a complexion like his. Of course, it was a little dark. Maybe she would let him get away with it.Â
âI think the companyâs pretty good at the moment, yeah,â he agreed.Â
Her statement about saving her opportunity made him laugh fairly loudly. âYou know, not just any girl threatens her date with eventual murder on a first date,â he said, taking a sip from his water. âBut... if my family history is anything to go by, itâs probably somehow a good sign. Of course... thatâs probably worrying in and of itself.âÂ
The waiter had brought over a tray of different dipping sauces. A few of them, Ben knew, were basically just there to make the food less spicy. In fact, based on the way the waiter seemed to size Ben up when he put them down, that was probably what they were all for.Â
âSo,â Ben said, sitting back in his chair a bit, âI think that the last time that I saw you before today was at Wedge and Iellaâs anniversary prty, right?â
Ben will be doing an honesty hour since I cannot blog at work.
Luke Skywalker: Hey, Ben, can you help me carry this box?
Ben Skywalker: [carrying the box effortlessly] Nothing is heavier than the weight of my internal torment.
Luke Skywalker: Iâm impressed but also concerned.

The Skywalker Sibling Cycle
Rey nodded in obedient understanding, listening raptly as Ben spoke â as though he were relating vital Resistance protocol rather than a silly story about their father when he was young. To Rey, this was every bit as important. She cared about defeating the First Order, of course she did. But this was her family. The thing she had spent her whole life wanting. Nothing mattered more.
âOh no,â she murmured with dawning amusement â and horror; horrified amusement? amused horror? It was hard to say which emotion held precedence within the nervous laughter bubbling up in her throat. Now she shook her head, as though she could fend-off what Ben was telling her even as she leaned closer so that she would be sure not to miss a single word.
(She did make a mental note to file-away the revelation that the Force could be used to maintain sobriety. She wasnât sure how that would work â didnât know enough the Force yet to know how hardly any of it worked â but it seemed like something that could be useful to look into and learn. Especially given that many of the stories sheâd already heard about Resistance celebrations indicated that not much had changed in that aspect since the destruction of the First Death Star.)
âOh no,â Rey said again, although it wasnât until several seconds after Benâs comment about fighting a Gundark that she belatedly realized what sort of propositions Ben had been talking about. She covered her mouth in horror. âNo!â she gasped. A giggle slipped past her fingers and she grimaced. âYouâre notâŠ? He didnâtâŠ? Oh no,â she said for the third and final time. âHe didnât remember? ThatâsâŠoh dear.â
Rey shook her head, her lips twitching at the sight of her brotherâs cackling. âAnd everyone thought he was being coy. Poor LuâŠdad. Thatâs quite a welcome to the Rebellion, isnât it. Stars, Iâm glad nobody decided to buy me drinks when I got here. Good thing I didnât do anything heroic first, fierfek. Sands only know what would have happened to me.â She raised an eyebrow at her brother and added wryly, âI donât know what kind of tolerance for alcohol I have, but I have a feeling that not much would be an apt estimate since Iâve almost never had any before.â
If having a sister meant that he got to catch her up on all of their parentsâ missteps and hilarious adventures, then Ben was happy to have a sister. Especially one who was so entertained by his stories.Â
âYep! Apparently, they gave him grief forever,â he told her, snickering himself at the thought. âUncle Han kept making wilder and wilder guesses until they finally found out who it was.âÂ
He shrugged. âThe Rebellion throws a good party, for sure. I canât wait for you to see one of our real ones. Theyâre always fun.âÂ
Her observation about no one buying her drinks made him snort. âSince Iâm your brother, I guess Iâm supposed to say that anyone who buys you drinks with any sort of ulterior motive will have me to answer to, but the reality is that Iâm the least of their problems. Theyâd have to get through Uncle Han, Aunt Leia, and Mom and Dad just to get to me.âÂ
âI canât drink either,â he told her, shaking his head. âI have the worst tolerance ever. Although, Iâve really only ever had like one drink, but I ended up tipsy for sure, so it wasnât my best idea.â
He shrugged. âAs it is, I might not be able to give you any advice on drinking like a champion, but I can help you find your way around here all right. Right away, I can warn you that the most dangerous thing that you will ever hear Aunt Leia say to you is âI made it myselfâ,â he put on a terrified expression. âEspecially if itâs spice loaf. Always avoid the spice loaf.â
My heart will always be soft. I will never stop looking for the good and love in everything. You canât take that away from me.
