If we disregard all the prophetic and intellectual qualities of Dostoevsky’s works, leaving only a purely emotionaI level, I believe it would be safe to conclude that people, who experience the strongest attraction to his fiction, are either those who feel too much (like his characters) or those who feel nothing at all (again, like his characters). The common thing between this two kinds of readers is the fact that both are suffering, and by the way his books hurt, they know they are not alone, just like I know I am not alone (но от этого не легче, хаха).
