the thing about mothers in fiction is that a lot of fandoms seem to be under the impression that the worst thing a woman can possibly do is be a bad mother. like they can forgive deadbeat dads easily but the moment a woman is a bad or even mediocre mother she's the devil incarnate to them. and then you're like "i like her and i think she's interesting" and they immediately go "oh so you think it's okay to be a bad mother (which is the most evil thing a woman can be)". and don't even get me started on how they react to female characters who are bad stepmothers

louis’s arc in s3 in a nutshell feels like a twisted attempt at “holding louis to account” for his actions whilst misrepresenting what he actually did wrong and weaponising his mistakes as an excuse to hurl racist abuse at him. no substantive commentary. no sincere engagement with his actual wrongdoings. no acknowledgement of his status as an abuse survivor. simply humiliation for its own sake.

how the daniel turning would go if they put my sick ass in charge

parts of an unfinished fic that this drawing would have accompanied...

if im being honest i really dont enjoy the idea that daniels turning in the show would've been some beautiful and poignant act of love like how it was in the book (and i have my own gripes about his turning in the book anyway) especially because of how fraught and tense things were during the s2 finale.

louis leaving armand was daniels "victory" so i believe that armand taking the opportunity to turn daniel—something that he is extremely disgusted by and didn't want to do—in a way that could leave him both humiliated and traumatized. like a final hurrah before fucking off.

also especially because i think loumand was gonna turn daniel anyway (together) so its like a very layered thing of armand taking this important thing away from louis (but also giving daniel to him as a fucked up gift as well??)
