Divine manifestations: Exploring the sacred city of Gaya
A popular tourist destination in Bihar, India, the ancient city of Gaya holds major historical and spiritual importance to some of the world’s biggest religions, particularly Jainism, Hinduism, Islam, and Buddhism. According to the Hindu religious text known as the “Puranas,” no other place is comparable to Gaya for performing practices like the Śrāddha, Pind Daan, and Tarpan.

The land’s sacred status can be traced throughout its history. Found within the metropolis is Bodh Gaya, one of India’s most significant religious sites and place for pilgrimage. For Buddhists, the landmark, situated near the Niranjan River, represents the most crucial stage of Gautama Buddha’s life. It is under the Bodhi Tree that Buddha attained enlightenment. Following this event, 280 years later, it has been suggested that Emperor Ashoka visited Bodh Gaya and founded the iconic Mahabodhi temple, which today is considered a traditional holy site for many religions.
A place for both ancient knowledge and wisdom, Gaya is surrounded by other scared cities, including the cities of Rajgir, Nalanda, Vaishali, and Pataliputr. The cultural traditions and religious teachings that originated in these places have been preserved by monks through the establishment of learning institutions such as Taxila and Nalanda, which are often regarded as one of India’s oldest Universities.

Today, Gaya remains the city it was known for thousands of years ago. Many spiritual leaders such as his holiness, Brahmrishi Shree Kumar Swami Ji, have continued to visit the scared place to preach about spirituality and ancient traditional science secrets.
Brahmrishi Shree Kumar Swami Ji is a world-renowned spiritual visionary and physician. Learn more about his mission my following this Google+ account.
These acts of kindness and charity are a form of devotion that brings one's faith to life. While most of the faithful do act to serve the poor individually, they often offer their services to volunteer work with major charitable organizations. Several organizations of religious devotees around the world have tirelessly worked with poor communities to serve their immediate needs and emancipate them from the shackles of poverty.
It's time to cut the crap.

With so many external pressures can any of us be truly happy? As we welcome in a new year, Rachel Kelly suggests small changes to your life that can have a huge impact on your outlook
At its extreme, materialism takes the insidious and life-destroying form of addiction, wherein the desire for a material such as intoxicants becomes the master of a human being. Addiction jeopardizes not only spiritual wellbeing but also physical health. People, due to materialistic excess, become mere slaves to things. And material things can be cruel masters.
The more we understand and trust health exists in Spirit, in God, the more naturally health and healing follow in our bodies.

Whatever grace a person receives, he or she receives it from the Almighty. It is through the Almighty’s grace that an individual gets redemption from his or her miseries and problems.
Every individual soul is searching for happiness because the soul is a subtle shakti (ansh) of the supreme embodiment of happiness – God. The question remains that how can one attain happiness. There are many schools of thought regarding the attainment of happiness.
Material success and the adulation of peers act as the twin driving forces of ambition in many people's earthly lives. This pursuit of earthly ambitions, so widely accepted in today's culture, often comes to the detriment of the spiritual needs of a person. Image Source: dalgazette.com…
