AAAAAAAHHHHHHH😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I’m having Laito thoughts and I need to let them out omg- but. Does anyone else enjoy how… sweet and soft Laito can be? All the sensuality and flirting and innuendos can be tiring after a while, and while yes it’s a huge part of his character, sometimes I just like to think about the moments when he lets the walls of flirtation he has down.
Imagine… whether it be after a night out, a night with a girl, or simply any normal night, and he’s quiet for once. No flirting, no innuendos, no mask, just silence. Laying on his side, gazing at the wall or nothing. The arm that’s touching the bed draped softly around the lower half of his face as it’s buried protectively in the crook of his elbow, hand laying on his own neck. His other arm brought up to cage in his head. His legs very slightly bent up, as if he’s trying to curl in on himself. And he’s just… staring.
Imagine how soft he would be then. How, late at night with him, he would appreciate the soft touches on his back or arm or through his hair. How his eyes would flick to yours and not be sharp and calculating, but instead how they would melt a little. Not making it sexual as he normally does. Enjoying the softness, the kindness, the fluffiness for once without anything being wanted of him.
Simply… existing.
I dunno, maybe I’m just tired.
My favorite post.🫶🫶
Surely Wright would be a gentle, personalityless vampire if he were not particularly conscious of being a pervert. In my opinion, it is when he is not doing anything that his true nature is hidden.
i saw this and my immediate thought was laito why did he have to be “reborn” in order to be a decent person diabolik writers can’t write for shit because it was completely unnecessary with the help of yui and his brothers i think overtime he would’ve became a better person killing him wasn’t necessary
Laito doodles cuz i luv him <3
and poor quality
Laito freak-meter off the charts
《 Regarding a certain matter 》
I am Japanese and in a position to enjoy the content in its original form, I believe Laito was definitely sexually abused. Probably many Japanese fans will have the same opinion as mine. If I could, I would like to conduct a survey, but that is difficult because Japanese fandom tends not to like to discuss characters.
The Japan Pediatric Society defines sexual abuse as follows:
We, pediatricians, define "sexual abuse" as all sexual victimization of children by elders and others in a strong position. Sexual abuse includes sexual acts, inappropriate sexual stimulation, inappropriate language and behavior, and involvement in sexual situations. Sexual abuse occurs regardless of the perpetrator's intent or the victim's awareness.
That is to say, regardless of what Cordelia intended, if Laito thought it was sex abuse, it was sex abuse, and vice versa. Even if neither condition is met, if the above behavior can be objectively determined to exist, it is sexual abuse.
Certainly there is no clear evidence that Laito and Cordelia had sex, but Cordelia saw Laito as a man, not her own child, like Richter and the other suitors. In all the official depictions so far, we have never seen Cordelia treat Laito as a child, which is clearly different from how she treats Ayato and Kanato. For Cordelia, Laito is one of her many lovers. This constitutes what is referred to above as "inappropriate sexual stimulation", and "inappropriate language and behavior".
It is nonsense to talk about the relationships between characters in DIABOLIKLOVERS using human common sense? If so, it is nonsense to even consider vampires. Because we don't fully understand the values of another species, it's not like we can give our opinion from the outside.
Of course, you are free to deny it. However, the fact that many fans interpret Laito as having been sexually abused by Cordelia means that there are so many depictions that can be taken as sexually nuanced.
Ultimately, there is no right answer to this story unless you ask Rejet, so those who are arguing in a contentious manner should calm down.
They keep kicking Laito in the shins 😭😭😭 I’m so glad I can actually watch gameplay on yt now
Nightmare in the game room
============================
Hearing footsteps echoing from the hallway outside the door, I smirked and tossed the billiard cue onto the floor. A loud clang rang through the quiet room.
—When did it start? When did Yui stop refusing my command?
"Ayato-kun...?"
Seeing Yui hesitantly open the door, I slowly approached her.
"You're late, Chichinansi."
I grabbed her delicate arm pulled her inside and locked the door behind her. Leading her further into the room, I immediately forced her down onto the billiard table, pinning her beneath me.
"…You came all the way here because you wanted this, didn't you?"
Without waiting for an answer, I pressed my fangs against her neck. She pretended to resist but her eyes were filled with anticipation.
Grinning, I sank my fangs deep into her skin. The rich taste of her blood spread through my mouth.
"Ah…!"
Maybe it hurt more than usual, because Yui reflexively raised her right hand. Her fingertips brushed against one of the nearby billiard balls, sending a few rolling across the floor with a series of soft.
Seeing the scattered balls, I let out an annoyed sigh.
"…What the hell are you doing?"
"S-sorry…!"
I pulled away from her reluctantly picking up the fallen balls. Yui sat up and watched me with a curious expression.
"…What?"
"Um… I thought you’d just ignore them."
"I can’t do that."
As I stared at the ball in my hand, old memories surfaced.
"…I can’t stand seeing balls scattered all over the floor."
============================
—How old was I? I don't remember anymore. But when I was still a kid without any interest in playing with my brothers, I often locked myself in the game room alone.
I used to play billiards to kill time, but I got bored quickly. With nothing else to do, I thought about lying down on the table. I tossed the balls onto the floor one by one never considering picking them up later.
"Che… This is boring."
Muttering to myself I closed my eyes. Maybe I should just sleep like this…
At that moment, the game room door burst open. The sound made me open my eyes.
"…I found you."
"Huh? …Oh, it’s you, Reiji."
"What is this ‘Clan's name’ thing you always go on about?"
Reiji was always saying that.
"Is it really that important?"
There’s no clear reason why Reiji is looking for me. He’s probably just going to nag about something again. Since I hate dealing with annoying things, I had no intention of listening seriously.
Reluctantly, I got up slipping past Reiji and preparing to escape.
"Ayato. I heard from your teacher that you failed your school test."
"Ah… So it’s about that…"
"Why do you keep disgracing our clan’s name with such behavior? I simply cannot understand it."
"What’s with this ‘clan’s name’ thing? You’re always going on about it, Reiji. Is it really that important?"
As I said that, Reiji approached me with an oddly smug smile.
"If you still don’t understand… then I’ll have to properly teach you a lesson."
"Tch… I don’t need that crap! Cut it off!"
I bolted toward the door, effortlessly dodging Reiji’s outstretched hand as he tried to grab me.
(Ha! Too easy…)
I leaped for the door, ready to push it open—but… *thud!* The only sound was the door refusing to budge.
"!? No way… When the hell did you lock it!?"
Panicked, I tried to force the lock open but it was already too late.
"Wait, Ayato!"
"Uwah..!!"
Hearing Reiji’s voice as he ran toward me, I turned around. Just as I was about to dash away, his body suddenly wobbled—
"Enough of this—ahhh!?"
"What...?"
It seemed he had stepped on one of the billiard balls scattered on the floor.
Reiji’s face twisted with fury, shock, and… embarrassment? And then—he was rushing at me at an insane speed.
"Why… Why are there balls here!? Ahhhh!!"
"GYAAAAAAH!!"
"AAAAAAAHHHH!! MOVE, AYATO!!!"
"UWAHHHHHHH!!"
I tried to escape from his terrifying expression, but my foot suddenly slipped on one of the billiard balls rolling across the floor. My body tilted backward—
*BANG!*
I crashed into the wall, hitting the back of my head.
"Ow…!?"
—The memory after that is strangely missing.
============================
But for some reason, that horrifying expression of Reiji’s started appearing in my dreams. Every time, I’d wake up in a cold sweat right before he got too close. That experience must have carved itself into my young brain as a full-fledged trauma.
Ever since then, seeing small round objects scattered on the floor was unbearable for me.
Which is why, later on I found myself compulsively picking up baseballs after gym class.
"…Hey, Kanato-kun. Why is Ayato-kun picking up baseballs?"
"I don’t know. But… it’s kind of weird."
"Shut up, you both! Mind your own business!"
Glaring at Laito and Kanato as they looked at me weirdly, I kept desperately collecting the balls.
============================
—Thinking back on it now, maybe that’s when I started liking takoyaki.
I don’t know if it’s related, but… those perfectly arranged little spheres are oddly comforting.
"..........."
Picking up a billiard ball, I glanced at Yui—only to find her giggling.
"…Hey, what are you laughing at?"
"It’s just… it’s kind of funny."
This is my first post, i hope you guys enjoying it^^
English is not my language soooo, if anything wrong with my translate pls let me know(@_@)

Sakamaki brothers must not have attended school until they entered Ryoutei High School, right⁉️ I’m very confused🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
I once saw a post on Twitter saying that Ayato likes takoyaki that are neat and tidy in the pack because he was traumatized by being offended by scattered billiard balls, and I am glad to finally know the source of that information🥰

Cute as can be.
Diabolik Lovers More, Blood Stellaworth Complete Tokuten Short Stories (Laito, Subaru, Shuu, Reiji)
(Click here for Ayato, Kou, Ruki, Azusa, Yuma and Kanato)
A decade ago this booklet was a tokuten you'd receive for buying the complete set of More, Blood CDs from Stellaworth. Nowadays, if you're really lucky, you can find it sold at Japanese flea markets or second hand stores. As with a lot of the other booklets, the short stories in this one have nothing to do with the plot of the CDs, but are simply standalone moments between Yui and the Diaboys, written from the POV of the guys.
Enjoy (*^▽^)/★*☆♪
(But don't repost the scans!)
Is it possible that "sweet" in this context is a metaphor for sexual desire? Wouldn't it make sense if you think so?
If "I don't like sweets" refers to the fact that Cordelia was pressuring him, it is not unnatural for him to have erased the event that caused the trauma from his memory, and it would also explain why he doesn't like "sweets.
Is that why he described Yui as "just right"?
He also refers to it as "refreshingly sweet," so perhaps this is an indication that Laito actually wants platonic love.
Laito's Sensitivity
I think what really kills me about Laito's character is that you can tell that beneath it all, he's a sensitive guy. This is not to say he's a good guy. If we must weigh his soul against the feather of Ma'at, Sobek's eating him, okay? I cannot recommend a relationship with this man. But setting that aside, I believe that we see hints as to his character having a 'sensitive' nature throughout the series - that he's not just intelligent in a logical sense, but able to pick up on things, and lives in that awareness in a way which is probably hard to turn off. One of the first things we see him doing with Ayato as a kid is advising him that Cordelia is not interested in his castle. He's sort of laughing about it, but I think that this is because, even at this age, he knows it's kind of futile, and he has that water-like quality where he doesn't batter at a problem but goes at it more subtly. He doesn't yell at Ayato, he knows that wouldn't do anything and would lead to a confrontation that (especially at that age) he wouldn't want. He just wants to plant the seed - but why does he do this? I do think he wants to support Ayato in some small way against his own obsession with impressing her, because Ayato's energy might affect Laito's. We see him quick to console and protect Kanato, too, in ways he never talks about and never tries to take credit for. I have to believe this is because it's instinctual, part of his natural character. Kanato is sensitive, but he's not able to control himself well, and Laito is sensitive, too, so he sort of cares, and tries to regulate the both of them. Even when he's teasing Kanato about needing to (frankly) use sex to add some honey to the trap he's keeping Yui in, he's essentially helping him keep his prey (while simultaneously threatening to take it away.) What really kills me about this, though, is that he was probably trying to 'take care of' Cordelia in whatever way he could, too. He seems to have been keenly aware of how much she wanted Karlheinz and longed for him. One of the things that absolutely sucks about being 'the sensitive one' in a family system is that you are often relegated to be the caretaker of others' emotions - including parents. Look at how Laito relates to Yui. "I know what women want. You all want the same thing. You want me to take care of you, don't you?" Cordelia is the woman he compares every other woman to, and his relationship to her is the model for every other relationship he has with women. Cordelia didn't just corrupt the word 'love' for Laito. She corrupted the natural way he connects to others - through his sensitivity, and his desire to take care of them. Beyond showing him, (possibly in the most literal way,) that the way to 'take care of' her when she was lonely was through sex, she also belittled and degraded him constantly as soon as she was done using him or the second he asked for anything real in return, teaching him that any sort of deep relationship was just asking to get tossed away and hurt. I'm poly by nature, so I don't really understand the nature of the pain monogamous people feel when they see their partners cheating on them, so I'd love thoughts from monogamous people on ways that her doing that in front of him must have affected him. (Besides the obvious - using him as basically a fetish object while he was in prison so that she could feel her own power as she had sex with Richter, or literally telling him she was bored with him so she'd be using other men instead.) My stomach flips a little as I think about this, but one of the things I hate about the things survivors of sexual abuse have to deal with is that a lot of the time, people are completely overwhelmed by feelings when they just think about the notion of sexual abuse. And this stops them thinking about what it must really be like. What I keep concluding as I think about it is that Laito is an essentially sensitive-natured guy, but everything in his life twisted that into the uniquely painful sort of weapon he uses to control girls like Yui.
Thank you for all your interesting posts! I love your posts 🥰
sorry for such a broad question but in your opinion is laito a well written character relative to everyone in diabolik? i really Want to learn more about him but i also dont want to subject myself to All That and i just want to know if he's worth reading about or just a pile of interesting plot threads thrown together for shock factor and unfulfilled thematically.
like my current personal opinion (may be wrong) is that i dont feel satisfied with the idea of yui's love or proactiveness fixing laito in any way because it doesn't mesh well with the actual ideas surrounding his character and unpacking that love is not poison goes beyond romantic love or a singular place of understanding. additionally it doesn't feel earned it feels like a chore for the player to trudge though for the sake of reading. i dont want to read laito's story that bad if it's the case yet im intrigued by the things offered by his character like the processing of the deeply visceral way csa shatters who you are
I wanted to wait till I finished his CL to answer so I'd be fully caught up with laito's routes, but that'll take too long so.....!! I might change my answer later!! lmao
[tw laito stuff, csa and suicide, yeah]
I do think Laito's a well-written character but his stuff is really difficult to get through if you have certain triggers, so it's tough to recommend. Even beyond the csa stuff, Laito is in a real hurry to die and he makes several attempts throughout the series. There's a certain unique sort of awfulness, at least for me, involving scenes where a character fails a suicide attempt and then get even more upset and desperate about it. So I understand what you mean when you say you're not excited about putting yourself through it. They were the hardest routes for me to get through too :')
A lot of earlier games suffer from endings that are like "And the two lived happily ever after, and we're not gonna unpack all that stuff!" and Laito's routes are no exception, but if you can look past that and make it to LE, I wouldn't say that Laito gets fixed. He has an ending similar to Ayato's that's like, it feels like we fixed everything but in reality we couldn't overcome the core issue! They really seem to believe that Laito absolutely can't be happy or live a normal life the way he is now. He has to die and/or rewrite his memories to be comfortable loving someone. It's up to your tastes if that's satisfying or not, but I kind of love the bittersweetness of LE endings, and the way they feel like a happy ending until you think about them a little too hard.
What's interesting is that Yui's purehearted love often hurts Laito more than it helps him. He responds to love, from Yui or from his family members, with revulsion. There's jealousy when he interacts with straightforward characters like Yui or Ayato, like "If only I could be as simple and pure as you, but nope, I can't." He's very self-aware for a diaboy, which only makes it hurt more when he keeps arriving at the conclusion that he's rotten. He definitely makes progress, which is really satisfying to see, like how he gradually allows Ayato back in his life emotionally. But as of right now, the end of his arc is so, like, "I tried, really I did! But my perspective on love is fucked and I need a hard reset! Maybe I'll be normal in the next life but definitely not this one!! Bye!"
...So, it's hard to say if you'll be happy with it. I see a lot of mixed opinions concerning the LE endings. They often give the diaboy what he wants but not what he needs, so you're left going, "Wait, I don't know about this...!" A lot of people really hate these endings, but they actually get more interesting to me the more conflicted they make me feel...and oh boy, was I conflicted about this one! :'D
If it sounds interesting to you, too, and you don't mind some pretty brutal scenes along the way, give Laito's routes a try. His HDB will definitely make you mad though lol
I don't think Laito necessarily needs to recover from trauma, but he does need to strengthen his spirit. Laito has a habit of refusing to recognize the fact that something painful happened to him, even if it is not directly related to the trauma, or he has a habit of escaping reality by interpreting it in a way that suits him. In fact, even after recovering from the trauma, Laito and Yui will clash again and again as long as this habit is not corrected. That is what really needs to be fixed.

Laito is a pain in the ass.
Laito is lame.
Laito is expressive.
Conclusion: That part is very cute…😌😌😌
