Is this anything
Thought I make an informational post because of the constant fight against Colombus Day!
A simple guide against the celebration of Christopher Colombus.
Who is he?
● A navigator from Genoa Italy who desired to find a faster route to "India". He set sail in 1492 with funding from the King and Queen of Spain.
Misconceptions:
●He was NOT the first European to discover America. Nor did he land physically on the North American continent. He landed in the Bahamas thinking it was Asia.
● He was not the first or only explorer who believed the world could be circumnavigated.
Fun Fact: The Norse would be one of the first groups of people to set foot in "America", settling Newfoundland 500 years before Colombus!
What makes him terrible representation of early colonial exploration:
● The indigenous people's that were in the Bahamas when he arrived were called the Tainos.
● At first what seemed a peaceful meeting turned south. Columbus quickly captured a few of the native people's as prisoners.
● He exploited them in intensive Spanish gold mines and labor.
● He exported many as slaves.
● Tortured, Mutilated, and Sold many young native girls into sexual slavery. He was a Rapist!
His own people did not agree with how Brutal he was!
In 1500 the King and Qeen got word. To save face they sent a Royale Administrative to detain him.
His colonization of the Bahamas was so bad that a fellow Spaniard Bartolome de las Casas wrote a popular text called the Destruction of the Indes which led to the Black Legend. One of the first early protest against the exploitation of Indigenous people's by Spanish conquest.
Now some facts about Native Americans. Many of this is simplified remember to fact check and do your own research!
●Their religion or spiritual practise is called Animism. They built their societies based on Matrilineal descent. (Def. Of the mother)
● The crops most commonly grown were called "The Three Sisters" Maize (Corn), Squash, and Beans.
Not all Natives were the same:
● Northwest Native tribes were avid traders and carved elaborate wooden pieces called totem poles.
● Southwest Natives such as the Puebo developed early irrigation systems. Apaches were foragers.
● Great Plains Natives such as the Cheyenne, Sioux, Crow, and Camache hunted Bison. Because many were semi-nomatic they used what we know as Teepees.
● Northeast Natives such as Iroquois and Aloquin made copper tools and weapons. They invented the canoe a wooden boat made of birch bark.
The Iroquois were Massive! Their league was made of 1450 tribes! (Leagues were confederation and alliances of multiple tribes within an area.)
● Southwest natives were a mix of hunter gathers. They developed codes of laws like a judicial system and were most known to readily adopt European customs. Unfortunately they are the most notable for partaking in the trail of tears consisting of the Cherokess, Choctows, Chickasaws, Creeks, and Seminoles.
● These last few are extremely important. Around 100,000 Native Americans were displaced and 10,000-16,000 died during the trail of tears.
●Millions would die out throughout the years from colonization, disease, assimilation, and the destruction of their home land.
Happy National Indigenous Americans day! And say no to Colombus Day!
Finally finished these little references for my Jekyll and Hyde designs. There's a slight quality difference between them because I drew Hydes like 3 months ago. Then I moved lol.
But I changed Jekyll a little bit from that first drawing I did. Hyde stayed the same. Hydes makeup like stated before is a mix of 1920s and pierrots. His hair blends from Jekyll brown to his black. And I like his eyes to be the same color as the elixir.
I just really like the idea of Hyde finding freedom in his appearance as much as he does in his dispositions.
Henry Jekyll and Edward Hyde Est. 1886
My Jekyll and Hyde designs that have been sitting in my sketchbook for like ever lol. I've been in this fandom for like three years and have never done a fully finished piece of them, so tbh I'm quite proud of myself.
I've always drawn Hyde with angular features and slight makeup, but I decided to fully commit to a full face of a pierrot/1920ish look. Why?....idk free will. No, but I like the idea since Hyde is such a "freedom" for Jekyll. Apart from the fact he gets to do whatever he wants, he also gets to express himself however he wants. And what started as him just putting on a bit of lipstick and slight rouge developed into an interest into something more bold, more...unusual for every day. (He also just really likes the attention it attracts.)
Anyways, I am trying to do face references for my J & H. I have Hyde done just got to finish Jekyll. So, I will post that eventually. And sometime in the future I'll have full-body ones done. :P
Supergirl and Krypto <3
Finally got to watching James Gunn's Superman and glad to say DCU is so back. Not my usual fandom post but I grew up watching CWs Supergirl and she was my favorite DC character when I was little. So, I'm genuinely excited to see what Gunn does with her character.

One of my all-time favorite series and one of my favorite genres of vampire media is that of the Dhampir. I've always loved seeing how different series interpret human/vampire hybrids. And just the idea of something born from that which is alive, and (un)dead is super cool.
As you can see, I did not draw his giant cloak. I could not for the life of me figure out how it was layered over his already many layers lolz
Dear John "Hey chat" Watson that was a tough listen
I dont usually post my art cuz idk lolz but here are some of my Oc's
1. Lord Edouard Williams a very grumpy pure blood vampire.
2. Emily Faremonte and Lila Lynn, two London's finest vampire hunters. Two bad one of thems a filthy dhampir.
3. Lila Lynn again. Just your average maid struggling to contain her vampire side.
4. Gay priest. Jk Father Moore. Betrayed by his vampire lover. Not much on him yet.

Honestly, my favorite part about highschool english classes was the fact that kids from all walks of highschool got together to try and figure out books written a hundred years ago.
Hey. Don't cry. Weird teenage girl somewhere out there reading Frankenstein for the first time. Ok?
Ngl after watching the new game theory... a fnaf game set in the 70s at a circus would go insatiably hard.
