There’s a French BD/comic series currently being published about her!
Just because, but I wanna take a minute to appreciate Native artists out there who arent appreciated for their work, or whose artistry goes unnoticed as just fun "crafts".
Here's one for indigenous artists in the Fine Arts category who paint, draw (both traditional & digital), photograph, & sculpt. Your artistic vision is a breath of fresh air!
Hats off to the people who sew, crochet, & knit. You who create beautiful traditional regalia AND "contemporary" not Indigenous inspired clothing. Your presence warms our hearts & bodies.
This is for my beadworkers who spend hours tacking colorful glass on string to clothes, shoes, hats, hide, & canvas. It takes a serious eye for the color coordination, aesthetics, design, & even math to create what you do. Where would modern native culture be without you?
This post thanks all the natives who create traditional works of art: quillworkers, basket makers, weavers, potters, woodcarvers, & metalworkers. You keep our cultures alive & your honour us by being an artist!
Thank you truly
