I havent posted on my @saintebela account in a while but i WILL BE. Its dedicated to my more canon-compliant rewrite, and i’ve just been trying to focus on LR but thats going slow SO. Perhaps time to play with canon a little

There are changes and stuff that I’m making, and ways i’m adapting lore to fit more consistently. But i’m gonna be doing a rewatch of MCD soon to create the basic overall shell of my lore by trying to fit together the puzzle pieces that canon gives us to form a cohesive picture. But i have big ideas for it already and how im gonna do certain characters :D

LR, the main rewrite of this tumblr account, is however basically me throwing shit at the wall bc its fun. Everyone is basically an oc and im doing whatever i want. Uhh, cuz i can.

My mcd v2 rewrite just starts with Aphmau waking up all Fresh and New with her dog and going ‘wow… time to grind’

i remembered i don't post much for here, tho i am still very much planning and setting up for this rewrite.

so.

here's a little aphmau, who ive designed specifically to look like jess. plus little crescent moon cheek markings, short hair (hair holds memories), and a pretty washed out colourscheme lol

MCD but aaron being blind. And it isn’t a surprise because:

-he has mysterious bruises (bumping into things when he’s distracted, or Nekoette-tan throwing apples at him. He can’t catch.)

-when asked what someone/something looks like, no matter how important, he shrugs.

-bad hand-eye coordination. Like he’s capable of fighting okay, but hammering nails?

-the fucking bandana

-Has offered to help Aph with her wounds after a fight, has to press on it with his fingers whilst sewing to make sure he’s getting the right spot. It hurts. She thought he was being mean. Blindness makes sense.

Aphmau is usually found holding some kind of bug or small animal. She finds them on her adventures and picks them up, and she just gets fascinated.

The worst thing she’s brought home is large snails, and Zoey helped her find a suitable place to release them.

Hi, so obviously this is the side blog I have dedicated to my canon-compliant rewrite (my main blog is @the-martyrfication-of-the-matron)

And considering I want to try and keep in line with canon lore, I am kind of trying to figure out how I am going to decide on what lore I will choose, when lore becomes contradictory.

This project is one I’m mostly working on out of love for the show and fandom so I do want to include the fandom at least somewhat in major decisions. And for things like this I think there is some level of fandom input that may be required to come to a decision, since I am notoriously biased.

How do I decide on lore?

Do polls to help decide on major lore decisions.

Pick the lore that remains the most consistent

Pick the version of the lore I enjoy most personally

Try and find a way to intertwine contradictory lore when possible

Pick the lore that I can fit best into my own rewrite

in regards to my 'Canon-compliant' MCD rewrite, I want to figure out the beginning so bad,

because in OG we don't really know how she shows up, and in Rebirth we do get given a reason, so if Rebirth gets to change the opening i think i'm allowed to too.

She doesn't have memories... but she has things. She had a life before this...

With Aphmau in my MCD Canon-Compliant (ish) rewrite, I’m still ironing things out A LOT (I announced it way earlier then I wanted to, sorry)

And particularly with Aph’s design.

I know I want to keep her very similar to the original, but I’m unsure about if I should change certain aspects.

One of the things I’m considering is giving her short hair. Because I think short hair is cute, and I think the whole ‘hair holds memories’ thing is cute too. And it’s fitting if the amnesiac doesn’t have much hair.

She would probably grow it out over time, it will probably grow super long after obtaining the relic, but to start with I think I want her to have shorter hair?

I’m unsure if it should be a more natural look or just some fuck-ass Bob though. Like did she pop up out of nowhere looking like that, or did someone give her that cut on purpose.

I’m trying to get the vibe for my Aphmau pin board down but she’s difficult I fear.

When it comes to designs for my rewrite, I’m keeping things very similar to MCD, but keeping it more within a particular style/period instead of the mix of eras in canon that happened due to MCA.

So I am trying to draw inspiration from her in-series aesthetics and stuff but I am drawing blanks. I have some things for her vibe but I’m not sure about it fully.

I might draw my current design for her and see if actually having it drawn down can help inspire me.
