Verdura Maltese cross cuffs paired with Norma Kamali’s quilted, embroidered robe. The history behind these cuffs is quite interesting. Fulco Santostefano della Cerda, the Duke of Verdura, started his career with Coco Chanel as head of textiles.
Chanel commissioned Verdura to create pieces for the boutique, but also to reset her own (real) jewels which had been gifted to her by admirers and lovers through the years. The jewels given by Grand Duke Dmitri of Russia were made into a cuff bracelet with a Maltese cross. This classic cuff bracelet is still very much popular today.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little death that brings obliteration.

Fernando Pessoa ― The Book of Disquiet
“It’s dusk, dearest. (In passing, isn’t ‘dusk’ a lovely word? I like it better than twilight. It sounds so velvety and shadowy and – and – dusky.) In daylight I belong to the world; in the night to sleep and eternity. But in the dusk I’m free from both and belong only to myself – and you.”
