Dragon Convo

Siri: I’m a water bender. I can make water do whatever I tell it to do.  ME: Yeah. That’s a cool ability. Orion: What can I do? ME: What can you do? Orion: Yeah, what can my power be? ME: How about an expert dragon tamer! Orion: No. I want to be a dragon “BENDER”. Siri: Dragon Bender? Orion: Yeah. I can make a dragon do whatever I tell it to do. ME: Like a dragon tamer? Orion: No. Like a Dragon Bender. ME: I see. Siri: That’s kinda cool! You can make your dragon fly you everywhere you want to go and tell it to blow fire out of its face! Orion: And make me a sandwich! ME: LOL Siri: ORION!!! Orion: What? Siri: Dragons can’t make sandwiches! Orion: Mine can. Siri: No he can’t! There are things that you just have to do for yourself! Orion: No, I don’t.  Siri: Yes you do! I mean sure, it could grab the TV remote for you, but you can’t just give your dragon the remote and expect it to press the right buttons! You’ll never see the show you want!  Orion: Oh...OK. I don't need a dragon. What can make a sandwich?

My son was about to get in trouble for playing his video game way after I had told him to turn it off, until I realized that he unlocked a hidden character that I like. "Son! How many times do I have to tell you...wait.. is that Jaraiya? The legendary Sannin of Konahagakure!? He's the greatest ninja ever! Give me that controller!" LOL

Real Love

If she hasn't texted you back, don't send another text. If she doesn't answer your call, don't call back and leave a message. When both people have strong feelings, that's infatuation. Its cute. But when it's only you doing the feeling, it's can be easily labelled as obsession. It's not wise to follow your "heart" without tact. The heart is a fine thing, but it is unfit to govern itself.  Advice: Write every love song you can think of, clean your house, go to a party, call your friend and talk his or her ear off. Just do not pick up your phone and be "that guy".

Talking to my daughter: Me: What did you learn at school today Siri? Siri: Oh we learned about the President of Allegiance. Me: Who is that? Siri: I don't know. We just say, "The President of Allegiance, is a flag of the United Snakes of America. And to the republic where witches stand... ME: What!??? LMAO

Tales of Fatherhood: At Target

I was looking for the Earl Sweatshirt CD at Target. I didn't see it but kept looking just to make sure. My 6 yr old daughter got really bored and asked what I was looking for. I told her and she said, "Well, this is Target, can't you just give up on the CD and buy a real sweatshirt?!"

A kid walked up to me at work, looked at me real serious and asked, "When Tyler Perry is being Madea, who is being Tyler Perry?"

Just Say Thanks!

When someone gives you a compliment, it is not your responsibility to comment on how much you didn't deserve it. That is the same as coming upon beautiful flowers and stomping them until they are good enough to take home.

Approach

People are like different types of soil. Your words are like seeds. All soil is not suitable for all seeds! Yelling at the soil is not going to help a seed grow. It takes patience and understanding of both the seeds and the soil that you are dealing with. Put the emotions aside and stop wasting your energy trying to grow carrots where a cactus should grow.

The Chooser

You are not your thoughts. They come and go. You are the chooser. A thought has very little power until you claim it as your own. Sometimes we claim a thought simply because it is the loudest, losing access to much better choices whispering...

Get it out!

Just get it out already! Get some sort of draft out! It doesn't have to perfect! What is "perfect" anyway? Can you answer that? A spoon is perfect... for eating!" Get over this idea of "perfect". It is holding you back. It is not real.

Gratitude

When a good movie ends we say, "Wow, that was a good movie." But when it is time to end a good thing in our own lives, many of us choose bitterness instead if saying "Wow, I'm so blessed to have experienced something so wonderful!"

You know you're used to having no gas when you're on "E" and don't even care as long the indicator is pointing to one of the upper two "E" lines! Lol

When I send my kids to "refocus" (timeout) they act like I'm banishing them to oblivion. Me: You two have been fighting. Now go...to refocus!! Kids: No! Please father, have mercy upon us! Don't make us sit down!!

Do not entertain thoughts that promote unnecessary grief and regret. These thoughts are unwelcome guests. Ignore their deceptive calls to you and refocus. Get around positive people, do something you love, do whatever you can to tune into the next frequency. When you hear them say, “You are not worthy of my attention- Not today!"

No matter how much you love a person or thing; he, she or it can only love you back in accordance to the confines of his, her or it's relative nature or current phase. In other words: Don't go to a snake that you adore expecting puppy love. You can pour every ounce of human love into that snake, but you'll get a snake's love every time.
