This particular chapter was about them attending a function at Eden, right after Yor has an accident (which she conceals with a hastily wrapped gauze). Loid finds out halfway that she’s been bleeding through her dress and proceeds to drag her to he school’s infirmary. Then there was a large piece of beautiful angst on whether she’d let him help and - here you go.

uhg, saw a post literally on my dash of the “if you’re not for banning content on ao3 just admit that you like CP” ilk and it’s just so frustrating because

i don’t want ao3 to ban certain kinds of content specifically because i do not like and do not want to see underage content.

fanfiction.net bans explicit adult content, but i know for a fact that there is still explicit adult content on fanfiction.net because i often unwittingly came across it in fics where it’s not labeled! there’s good reason i don’t go there to read fics anymore!

banning content doesn’t stop it from existing on that website, it simply makes it harder to moderate. part of why ao3’s system is so loved is because we are able to specify our searches to include and exclude multiple elements, but we’re only able to do so when those elements are labeled.

If we ban the “content” what will actually be banned are the labels that allow us to avoid it.

What I think: Tahomaru is one of the most complex and interesting characters in Dororo. At first he seems like a proud, spoiled boy whose only goal is to be the perfect heir to Daigo and will certainly become Hyakkimaru's rival, not only because of Daigo but also because of the lack of his mother's love, realizing that all this time she was praying for Hyakkimaru instead of giving love to her actual son. But when he met Hyakkimaru he didn't felt hatred, he felt a mix of jealousy and admiration, and even when he learned that Hyakkimaru was his brother he wanted to get to know him instead of just kill him on the spot. He even goes against his father's orders and goes after Hyakkimaru with Mutsu and Hyogo. Unfortunately things start to go downhill as Tahomaru falls victim of Daigo's manipulation, slowly losing his humanity. He is also a much better leader than Daigo, he cares deeply about his people and his land, not because he wants power but because he has a good heart. So if you see things from his POV, it only makes sense that he must kill the one who's making his people suffer, even if this person is his own brother. But in the end he followed his heart and let go of his hatred, sacrificing himself just to save Hyakkimaru. In the end, he's a lonely soul who never had the love of his parents and never understood the world around him, just going with the flow and doing things according to rules, hoping that one day he would be praised for who he really was, and not for being the heir of Daigo.
