also actually i know on technicality its not gales fault prim got killed, he designed a trap that would kill children either way, so actually he kind of is a horrible person i changed my mind

also hot take i know peeta and gale are supposed to highlight her choice of the capitol or the rebellion but i think instead of peeta being the capitol and gale being the rebellion (probably what katniss also thinks at a surface glance) gale is more representative of the capitol while peeta is more representative of the rebellion

#obviously defining them as capitol or rebel is very like undetailed to their true dichotomy #but this is my fever rant and i get to say what i want #but anyways obviously gale is a rebel but he thinks capitol #plotting ideas to kill people thinking of snares #while i think peeta is this symbol of love and i think choosing love in a horrible situation is inherently rebellious #i think peeta always has displayed these traits #like the i dont want them to change me speech and his willingness for the berries and wanting to kill himself for katniss to survive #the quell #even bringing the locket into the games i feel was rebellious #gale is only like. visually a rebel #he talks bad at the capitol he plans bombings he hates and hates #but he doesnt do anything for his community to show love and kindess to his fellow man #and i think that supporting your community is more rebellious then thinking of how you can hurt people #anyways katniss chose peeta in the end anyway so it doesnt matter hes forever the goat

i always think of this everytime i reread the hunger games but it genuinely pisses me off so bad the fact gale acts like he was the one who went in the games, and acts like he has the authority over katniss who actually was there

#like im not one of those people who think gale is the devil from the bible #but he is NOT a good person #like hes not just a kid who grew up in a terrible world he is just a bad person #like he acts like hes owed katnisses love #or he always is making comments about how shes selfish #but honestly i think hes the selfish one he comes off as feeling he deserves her love #i dont think hes the worst person but he lacks empathy and it pisses me off #im on mockingjay where theyre in district 2 and he just pisses me off hes always like #making excuses for his lack of empathy #and talking down to people who were in the games (aka lime and katniss)#gale hawthorne may you get therapy
