I was a little disappointed that Season 4 of Moominvalley 2019 kinda backtracked on the Snufmin ship, and had so few moments between them. So, in retaliation, I made an amv showcasing exactly what their relationship is and what we all see. Enjoy!

I think this scene really shows how much both of them have grown over the past 9 seasons!!

Morty is confident enough to call rick out on his lie

And Rick is aware enough to know he crossed a line

But it's not enough!! Rick has made various decisions to traumatize (both knowingly and unknowingly) morty in a way that literally changed how morty is as a person, and the fact that he loves morty doesn't change the damage he has caused.

Rick still hurt Morty's feelings, and I'm glad we are exploring both the ups and downs of their relationship , especially how the juxtaposition we get each episode

Just watched the latest RnM and I am gonna scream. "Did you think you could let an alien parasite feed on your brain without consequences" is such a maddening line because oh my god, NO, Rick, he didn't think that. He knew there would be consequences. This kid lives in hell! The thing that's most like you about him is that there's a part of him inside that's always screaming to get out!

The constant assumption of Morty's incompetence this season, and how it's drastically incorrect, is really shaping up to a heart-rending last episode, I fear. If the theory that Morty's gonna run away is correct. Hell, even if it isn't. The writers are doing a great job stirring up the interpersonal issues to a boiling point. Everyone underestimates this kid. Even though one version of him broke the CFC, ended the Citadel, and became functionally immortal. Even though he's the main weakness of one of the supposed smartest guy alive - down to being his fucking password. It's ludicrous at this point to assume he doesn't understand consequences. He's seen worlds end from less.

Rick thinks he knows Morty to a science, can manage and suppress the needs of his grandson so that he continues to get what he wants out of the deal - but all he actually sees are the consequences. All effect, no cause. He's missing what's going on in this kid's head, by a long shot, and it's gonna fucking suck when the other shoe drops.

I love this portray of lack of empathy!Morty so much.

Like usual, in some movies, people who lack empathy get portrayed into evil, manipulated or completely cold hearted jerk

But we can see Morty here, despite, supposedly "at his worst", still is very nice

He yelled at Rick, yes. But only one time and he still chose to save Rick, multiple times when Rick was on the whole "empathy" high.

He yelled at Summer and said they could replace another dad if Jerry is dead, but in the end, he still chooses to come to Summer and save Jerry

He cooperated with the cop to lure out the killers, but his face still showed the shock and surprised when he saw how that killer got taken out

And the card. He still took it and held it in his chest, he just... Doesn't feel the joy of wanting it anymore

So I watched the episode (finally after work 💀)

All he wanted was some pokèmon cards, like any normal child he is. And what does the old man do? Hmm...

Poor Morty he ran away crying. At least Rick does feel guilty. (Better than in season 1 lmao) You might think he apologized to Morty later...

I think the only way Rick can see the consequence is when Morty finally snaps and leaves him. I hope Morty doesn't forgive him easily.

It would be so funny if Morty started acting like Prime...maybe a bit. Imagine Rick creating his own monster and enemy, and he has no one to blame except himself. Maybe I will write or probably draw an Au about this. I already have an idea, a long time ago
