After well over a decade in the sport, Sebastian Vettel is sure of three things in Formula One. Three things that never change and will always remain a constant in the circus that they all loved so much.Ā
One: Cash is King. Everything they did, everywhere they raced, every track they raced on, it was decided based on how much money people were willing to spend.Ā
Two: People will always hate the dominating driver. They had hated him, they hated Lewis, and now they hate Max. Itās just how the world of Formula One works, or rather the way of sports in general. People will always hate the winners because their guy is losing.Ā
Three: Daniel Ricciardo will have at least two men fighting for his attention at any given moment. And more than likely, Daniel will be completely unaware that they canāt stand one another.Ā
In the early days of Danielās career it had been Lewis and Jenson. The teammates loved the adoration Daniel gave them. Two world champions, young and talented at a team that could win them races but not more championships, had found a sort of solace in the adoration given to them by a driver so early in his career. It didnāt hurt that Daniel was so willing to go along with whatever they wanted, so happy to be positioned any which way, to be shared and used and ruined if they so wished.
Then it was Lewis and Nico. The teammates playing tug of war with their favorite Aussie on podiums. Both wanting Daniel and not wanting the other to have a moment alone with him. Daniel hadnāt minded being stuck between the two Mercedes teammates due to his love for their attention. A heady feeling for the Australian who was trying to make his mark on the sport and prove that he deserved his Red Bull seat over all the others.Ā
Towards the end of the Lewis and Nico teammates era, Max had entered the picture. Young, rash, and so clearly in love with Daniel. So it had become Lewis and Max chasing after Danielās affections. A driver cemented in the sport and in his efforts for Daniel versus a driver desperate to clutch on tightly to everything that he received.Ā
Lewis always remained, never pushing for more than Daniel was willing to give but never settling for anything less than what he wanted. A complicated position for a complicated man. Max, on the other hand, wanted to take and take, never settling for sharing Daniel. At least not in his early years when his only true competition had been Lewis and Max had been on the same team as Daniel.Ā
As time progressed and more competition for Daniel arrived, there was little Max could do about his selfishness when it came to Daniel. They were no longer on the same team and the others outnumbered him.Ā
In 2018, Charles and Scotty James had staked their claims on Daniel. Unlike the rest of them, Scotty was Australian and close to Daniel in ways the others never could be. Charles, so pretty and perfect, had been just like Max in the sense he took what he wanted and without any hesitation. And when it had been Daniel, he hadnāt hesitated in securing a place at Danielās side during the Monaco celebrations. His own awful home race hadnāt prevented him from celebrating Danielās win and claiming Daniel as his prize.Ā
Then came George, a fan who wanted to know Daniel intimately, in every sense of the word. And Lando who laughed like he was dying at Danielās jokes about pubes and mustaches. But unlike George who didnāt hesitate to befriend Daniel and call him Danny Ric and wear clothes that Daniel designed just to have his attention, Lando was shyer, took more time. Heās more sensitive, Daniels had once said with a look of pure adoration for the young Brit.
Sebastian had gotten used to dealing with drivers that fell for Danielās charms. He knew what to say to them, how to give them a shovel talk and threaten them if needed, he knew how to protect Daniel from getting hurt. Hell, he even knew how to deal with Scotty.Ā
One would think that by the seventh time it happened, Sebastian would have no qualms with threatening someone and being intimidating for Danielās sake. One would think that until they saw the most recent victim to Danielās charms.Ā
Daniel had gone and gotten an American football player to be completely enthralled by him. Twice his size (and Sebastianās), Josh Allen towered over all the rest and easily manhandled Daniel.Ā
Sebastian would need to get creative in his threats, but he would do so if it meant preventing Daniel from getting hurt by some American athlete.Ā

Alex, his best friend, the traitor, chuckles at his confusion, and when he looks at his screen, the chat is doing so too. Max flushes, quickly locking his phone before focusing back on the stream. Alex is grinning widely at him on the screen. Ugh, what a pain.
āTell us, Maxy, come on, what got you giggling like a schoolgirl with a crush, eh?ā
That fucker! Alex laughs knowingly, and the chat goes wild as usual when they get to tease him, and Max knows he'll have to answer now. He clears his throat, trying to sound as unruffled as possible.

The Thai's grin somehow widens even more, almost shark-like, and Max just dug his own grave, didn't he?

The blonde feels heat rising in his face, and he doesnāt need to look into the screen to know that he's blushing furiously. It's probably spreading to his neck too, god. Max hides his face in his hands, embarrassment making his skin crawl. Him and his big mouth and his lack of self-control when it comes to a certain curly haired brunette.
āThat's- it's not- ugh!ā
He stumbles over his words, and he hears Alex laugh harder in his headset. He knows it's good natured, though, and that's the only thing keeping him from just ending the call.

Max shakes his head, drinks a sip of his Red Bull to try and regain his composure. Alex got the chat involved now, and that means he canāt just brush it off. Well, he could, and honestly, apart from some trolls here and there, his little community is really nice and understanding, and they know not to push on things if Max doesn't want to elaborate. Butā¦ this is kind of harmless, he guesses, so he can play their game a bit.

Half an hour later, Max wraps up the stream, a faint blush lingering on his cheeks after all that had happened during what Alex had described as āgushing over Daniel for more than ten minutesā.
He gets up, tidying his desk, throwing away the empty Red Bull cans and water bottles, as well as any wrapper he could find. Finally, he leaves his streaming room, shutting off all the lights and closing the door.
There's no sounds in the small apartment, which probably means his roommate is already asleep. It's like, 3am, so, fair. Max gets ready for bed before slipping under the covers, practically melting on the soft mattress. Just as he reaches for his phone to plug it to charge, he sees it.

The day I watched Christian Horner almost pushing Sebastian - his first golden son - almost out of the way, not even stopping to give a cursory congratulations on his second place, to pick Daniel up and look at him with such wonder and disbelief, was the day I knew he was nothing less as golden and gilded as the other two sons who did win world championships.
I know people always talk about Baku being the impetus behind Daniel leaving Red Bull, but for me Monaco was truly the turning point.
Daniel standing on the steps of the Red Bull energy station in Monte Carlo as Helmut Marko essentially told him Red Bull would never win a championship with him and Daniel realising he had to leave. He probably knew he had nowhere else to go, but he also knew he couldnāt stay back. And yet for Christian, Daniel winning Monaco probably made him think Daniel wouldnāt leave now. Look what theyād done with an ailing car! Think of what they could do together with a better car!
Which is why almost three years later, as Daniel was struggling in that McLaren, as he was about to be lapped by his much younger teammate at a track where he had experienced the highest of highs, Christian Horner would clasp him on the shoulder and lean close just to tell him, āIāve watched some of that race recently.ā And Daniel, with the weight of all the wasted years pressing down on him, with him thinking if it couldnāt be me, Iām glad itās him - because at one point in time, no one could have argued against the certainty that it could be him - would just smile and nod. And maybe for a brief moment there, he had the fleeting thought, ācan I come back home?ā

You obviously don't get the point of the person's post you linked. This is what she means by Daniel fans have a victim mentality. I'm so glad she responded to your latest reblog and then decided to block you because you are the one so obviously in a bubble that it's scary. You took words that she said and twisted it to fit your narrative, you used her post(which was taken out of context) and used it which lead to the very same Daniel fans she was talking about to pop up in her inbox and say the very things that you said was only a minority.
Don't bother trying to argue with me because you have your opinion ad I have mine. I am a huge Danny Ric fan, but it's people like the ones she was talking about in that post and you, who don't know the entire situation beyond that one post but decided to stick your nose in anyway because you assumed that she was hating on all Daniel fans, that give normal fans a bad rep. You won't even get to see what she reblogged because I'm going to go suggest she block you right now.
It's like you have wool pulled over your eyes when it comes to other drivers being hated on, but when it comes to Daniel, it's nothing but he's the victim, he's the most hated on, blah blah blah. The point of all the posts she made was to say that some Daniel fans or fans of other drivers was taking it way too far.
I don;t see how you saw the post of her saying that, and made it all about Daniel himself. It proves that you don't look for context, you don't are to see context, and you see what you want to see.
