Is this just what you do? You start to get involved, get scared when the emotions are too much, and then dream up any excuse you can to run? Or to invite the other person to dump you?

There's a lot of stress out there, and to handle it, you just need to believe in yourself; always go back to the person that you know you are, and don't let anybody tell you any different, because everyone's special and everyone's awesome.

So itâs not about what you do. It canât be, can it? It has to be about how you are, how you love, how you treat yourself and those around you, and thatâs where I get eaten up.

15 Photographs of Iconic Landmarks Around the World Showing Support for Paris
After last nightâs deadly attacks on Paris, cities around the world began projecting colors of the French flag on their historic landmarks to demonstrate support. From Shanghai to Rio de Janeiro, the entire world is Parisian in this moment of crisis and grief.

Itâs Time..
Iâve been a bystander for way too long. I used to stand and watch people get bullied, I watched as someone was picked apart to believe they were nothing. And eventually, they ended it with their life. I just watched. Itâs time to make a change, itâs time to take a stand and itâs time to put my foot down and stand up for those who cannot do it on their own.Â
The world CAN change, enough people just have to hold onto their beliefs so tightly so that some day, parents donât have to be worried about their future generations and what will happen.Â
Itâs time to make a stand against negative society and stereotypes. Itâs time that we can start feeling comfortable with ourselves rather than spending hours on figuring out what decision would society class as correct.Â
Itâs time to give freedom and independence to those who donât have it, yet deserve it. Itâs time to open peopleâs eyes and inspire. Iâm here to get my voice out, but not alone. Iâm here to help others stand up for what they believe in and let them get their voice out as well. The world wonât just listen to one of us, but it will listen to many of us.Â
No words can describe the pain and terror in Paris. And no words can describe the sorrow I feel for those people. Pray even if you don't have a God to pray to, just pray for peace to come to these people and for the safety of the rest of the world.
You illegally remove a bike rack in front of my home/business, just wait.
I live in the same building that I work in. I manage a sandwich shop in a heavily urban area. The landlord of the building is an angry old man, who we all love, but can be crotchety at times.
He took upon himself to remove the bike rack in front of my building, illegally.
His thinking was it would cut down on people leaning on it to smoke cigarettes.
So I emailed the department of transportation, stating that if they continue to be removed, weâll potentially miss out on business from cyclist, on the theory that if they have no place to securely lock up their bikes. My landlord is on vacation, when he comes back on Wednesday, there will be a brand new 20 foot bike rack installed directly in front of the building, courtesy of the city.
Karma is a bitch for some people, but treasure to others.
Stupid Parking Garages
I donât know how it is anywhere else, but where I live, the first hour is free in most parking garages downtown. Now, today I was running late to class due to viewing an apartment, and wound up having to do the one thing I dread most when it comes to downtown... Park in a parking garage.Â
I arrived to the parking garage near my college at 12:29, and we had a test today, meaning I would be able to get out of class pretty early. Now, I didnât get out of class until about 1:24, giving me five minutes to get to my car and get out of the parking garage without any cost. Well, that didnât happen because of slow elevators and slow cars in the parking garage itself.Â
Thatâs not the part Iâm angry about. I give the credit card machine my ticket at 12:30, and STILL got charged for the next hour. It may have only been an hour, but I only missed it by ONE MINUTE. That pisses me off, I should only be charged that dollar if I actually was there for that hour, but I wasnât. Simple as that. Sure, charge me a penny, a quarter, I donât care, but do not charge me for an entire hour when I was only a minute passed the time limit.
Stress at Work
I feel pretty lucky to say I actually enjoy my job⌠Well, for the most part. I absolutely love the work I do, but I dislike some - most - of the people I work with. See, the manager has this weird fetish for girls under the age of eighteen while he is in his mid thirties. The girls find it fantastic, but someday their parents will not. Now, the store gives its employees a 15% discount and one day when I decided to get an energy drink partially through an eight hour shift, I was denied the discount by the little cashier because âI work in the deli and thatâs not important enough.â
The work I do is great, but goes unnoticed every day. Yes, we make the lowest sales, but thatâs not our fault. We have three people running that deli, and we all can only have one person working at a time to keep things stocked, salads and dinners in the hot case fresh, prep some more food, etc. We donât get a break. While the grocery clerks can have 2-5 people on the floor at a time and STILL ask us to do something for them. Iâm sorry, but thereâs plenty of you to take a second and stop to do what youâre asking me to.
I love my job, but if only we could be noticed for all the work we do and not taken for granted. Not only that, I do twice as much work as anyone else that works there - except for my fellow deli workers - and am pretty much the assistant manager, yet I only make $8 an hour. I canât get out of this job either because of the stability and the fact they respect my availability and schooling.
