The sight of him lit her up like a candle, a little spark flickering inside of her chest as her legs moved over the threshold of his place. Belly had to admit that it was nice for a bachelor pad - wait, was this a bachelor pad? She hadn’t really asked if he was single or not but form what she gathered he was. In her head most guy’s single living didn’t include a clean kitchen but she’d gauge his cleanliness by the bathroom sink. “I’m the best postmates delivery girl you’re ever gonna get,” Belly tossed back, looking over her shoulder before making herself at home. She put down the box of pizza and the beer, flipping the cardboard top off the box and grabbing a slice for herself. “Sorry not sorry I’ve already eaten two pieces. I was a hungry girl.” Before taking a bite, Belly let herself give Samuel a grin, taking him in while in a different setting and not under the magic mushroom spell. He was still handsome, that was for sure.Â
“Ya damn right.” Samuel agreed without even batting an eye. He plopped down on the couch and leaned forward to scoop up a slice. “Oh, shit...no manners. I should give you a tour. And a plate.” He shook his head, laughing at his own momentary lapse in hospitality. After biting a nice sized chunk from his slice, he stood up and made his way to the kitchen. He retrieved two mismatch plates and upon returning handed one over to Belly. “Okay, ready for the grand tour of my castle?” He winked playfully, recalling their conversation from that night almost verbatim. Samuel led her around his average sized one bedroom apartment - starting with the room they were currently in. “This is the living room. Where I mostly game and smoke.” He did a grand sweeping gesture with his hand. Â

Before she knew it, Bellamy was knocking on Samuel’s door with a pizza box and a six pack of coor’s light in her arms. Once he had dropped his location like Khalid in 2016, she hadn’t thought twice, packing up and heading in his direction. The time at the beach had been on another level of fun, the pair gelling well enough that Bellamy Jackson had been thinking about it since. Just two nights ago after her shift at work, she laid in bed while on instagram and she wondered if Samuel was laying in bed at one a.m. scrolling social media too. On the wagon wheel of life, she thought. She wiggled her shoulders to get out her head, hoping he wouldn’t mind if they smoked the joint she brought too. A trifecta of a gift basket, if you asked her. “Ding, dong!”

Samuel was downright c o r n y. He knew damn well he wasn’t texting some random person but he would’ve liked to play it off as so. Honestly, he couldn’t get Bel off his brain since the bbq and he just needed some reason to talk to her. Well it couldn’t have worked out any better because she en route to his place. He did as much as he could to make the apartment look presentable. He was a dude in his early 20′s so yeah - definitely not perfect - but he was no pig either. A wide grin appeared as he heard a knock, shortly followed by the sound of her voice. “Damn, pizza places deliver beer now, too.” Samuel greeted, stepping aside to allow her entrance to his place. “You’re too kind. I’ll try to remember that when rating this pizza.” He added, locking up behind them.Â
Samuel hadn’t met a competitive sport he didn’t enjoy. Maybe mini golf wasn’t the most extreme form of competition but he liked it. Much like pool, he just enjoyed a good game. And good company. He’d only spent time with Jane once but she was sweet and he very much enjoyed their time spent together. Which is why he had zero qualms about inviting her out tonight. He was cheesy about the whole neighbor number business but he wasn’t sure how else to go about texting her. He was just glad she didn’t think he was completely lame. He blew out an excited breath, hands clasping together as he stood by the entrance sporting a smile. “There she is. Hey..” Samuel greeted warmly, going in for a hug. “Hope you don’t mind, I picked glow in the dark mini golf. Gotta keep you on your toes.” He teased.

Stell: Np.
Stell: I'm kind of just sitting at home right now? Nothing too thrilling.
Samuel: Hmm. Why don't you change that? Do something crazy.

“you’ve been MIA? wow i didn’t even notice,” the girl mocked as she rolled her eyes playfully. “but what’s new? well a lot if i’m being honest, i’ve been making more money than ever before which is great. i have been doing the opposite of making friends although that’s not really a new development. i’ve become quite familiar with a couple of people here if you know what i mean. other than that there’s not really anything exciting. what about you? what have you been up to besides avoiding me?” charity laughed.
The deep sound of his laughter filled the air between them. Being so close with Charity at times felt like having a girlfriend without the sexual benefits. Most days he didn’t mind that, unless she was busting his balls, like right now. “I can take it. Dish it out, babe.” He waved his hand as if to tell her to keep it coming. Samuel nodded his head as she spoke, knowing all too well of the struggles. “People suck, what else is new? I tried shrooms. Which went pretty fucking well. I think I kinda have a thing for the girl who put me onto them though...” He confessed quietly, knowing he often had a thing for some girl at any given time. “Can we go back to the money making thing, though. Are you dealing or something?” He was partially joking.

The beach was already winding down to the evening as the last of the beachgoers in Dayton went ahead and packed up to head home as the sun started to set, dashing the light blue skies into a bright, deep shades of yellows, oranges and reds. The red contrasts with the red that the blonde was wearing as her uniform, as Charlie treads along the sandy beach, heading back to the lifeguard tower ahead of her, where she left her items and belongings, and a change of civvies, in the lockers. It was an uneventful day, where all she did was ride the ATV on patrol, and sit in the guard tower with the binoculars, as she climbed up the steps, stepping into the doorless guard tower, as Charlie began to strip off her red one piece; getting dressed into a pair of shorts and a tank top, before the woman folded her uniform back and stuffed it above the locker, just as she heard someone walk up the stairs of the guard house. “If you’re looking for the lifeguard, she’s just punched out.” Charlie mused, keeping her back facing the other, shamelessly standing on her tiptoes as she tried to stuff her uniform in, butt in full view.
Samuel didn’t hate the beach or anything, he just wouldn’t say it was his first choice. In spite of this though, he found himself puffing on a joint while wandering the now semi emptied sands. He was contemplating what to eat - which was the usual - when he spotted a familiar sight. Yeah, he’d recognize that body anywhere. A wide grin settled upon his lips as he watched her for minute before she disappeared. Without hesitation he decided to follow in her footsteps. His brows rose in a pleasant surprise when he was greeted with a generous glimpse at her backside. “Well, some things don’t change.” He commented, laughter falling from his lips. “If I would’ve known you were on watch today, I would’ve purposely drowned.” Samuel joked. He ashed out the jay for now along the bottom of his sneaker. It’d been awhile since he’d seen his ex last but there wasn’t any particular reason. Life often had a tendency to get in the way like that. “Was just gonna grab food, if you’re down.” He informed her, gesturing towards the boardwalk filled with restaurants.
The whole “number neighbor” thing had been something Samuel did as a result of pure boredom. What he hadn’t anticipated is that it would actually give him something to do. Aside from texting strangers. Luck was on his side apparently because he was soon arriving at a bakery in town - with an empty stomach and hungry eyes. He could barely wait to taste test some cupcakes. He stopped short to admire the store front. Cool looking place. His smile seemed to widen impossibly as he pulled open the door, strolling in like he owned the place. “Official taste tester in the building.” He announced jokingly.Â

“Ah, shrooms. Tell me what you learned about your life and your purpose in the universe? You better have some crazy stories or I’m going to have to get you higher than you were, pal.”
Samuel laughed softly, “Man that night...was something. I also smoked and drank. Contemplated the meaning of life and what was the point. Also imagined myself as a prince. Fucking hell of a trip.” Out of context maybe he sounded batshit crazy but that about summed up his night with Bel at the BBQ.

Stell: Hmmm.....well I know there is plenty of good comedy specials on Netflix. As far as thrillers go....I enjoyed Bird Box, Cam, and of course, Silence of the lambs is a classic.
Samuel: Oh man, Silence of the lambs? Haven't seen that in forever. Thanks for the suggestions.
Samuel: What are you doing? Ya know besides texting a stranger.

Samuel: Ahh, never any fun.
Samuel: Let's do it. Mini golf sound good?

“Ask about it then,” Kennedy knew she’d continue with this game, but it seemed fun. He seemed like the kind of guy that had fun playing games like this. Smirking, she licked her lips. “I don’t need gentle,” she said as she headed inside, smirking as they made their way over to the pool tables.
Samuel blew out a walked past and into the billiards spot. She was something, alright. And the more they spoke the more he found himself enjoy their conversation. Shortly after he followed her to the table. His hands were occupied rounding up the wrack and pool balls. But his eyes kept landing on the blonde. “I’ll bite. What do you do then, besides working in the flower shop?”
