So I hung the big painting today, and it is giving me all the feels. I have never been able to stand this far away from this piece. Crossing the length of two rooms to stand and stare at this thing brought actual tears to my eyes. In my little room I reach a point wherein I simply could not see the work well enough to finish it. It outgrew the space. It feels awesome to see all my work (finished and unfinished) in a space that’s large enough for it to be seen and enjoyed! I thought this piece was about 2/3 done, but considering it here it’s clear it’s only about half way there. I’m so excited to have a couple days off to paint coming up, and to have studio space all over my apartment to make it happen! This is a 1988 Cannondale Criterium road racing bike I was just gifted by my uncle! I have been dreaming of my firsts vintage restoration projection for awhile now, and I am soooo pumped to have this to work on... and RIDE!!! I was worried that the frame was going to be far to large for me, but since my uncle intentionally buys small frames to cut weight, it ends up being kinda perfect. Merry xmas in July to me!!! Last night I successfully re-wrapped my handlebars with this beautiful hot pink Lizard Skins bar tape! It took longer than I expected but it was worth putting in the time to get right. Are there minor imperfections? Sure. But overall I feel pleased and proud of the results!
