Debating on whether or not I want to use Tumblr for anything other than writing/interacting with people now. I’ve spent more than my fair-share of time scrolling so I may just use this as a writing blog and reblog things I find interesting.

Why did u get kicked outta ur old acc?

Long story short the password reset got sent to an email account I no longer have access to (the 2-step verification is to a phone number I recently got deactivated). 

I’m trying to work it out with Support but if not, this is gonna be my new casita.

Basically every big tech company does this. Apple, Microsoft – ask anybody who’s worked frontline tech support for any of them, and they’ll probably tell you that there was a list of known issues – with known solutions – that they explicitly weren’t allowed to help people solve, because according to company policy, those issues officially did not exist; instead, they were supposed to convince anyone who called in that they were misunderstanding the software’s normal behaviour and/or straight up imagining things.

It was a heck of a thing to drop out of the blue, but since Marinette revealed her identity to Ladybug, Marinette had gotten used to Alya texting or calling at odd hours with sudden revelations.

(“So when you skipped on our hangout sess a few months ago, was it because-”)

(“I’m just saying, I know I guy who might be able to doxx Hawk Moth.”)

Unlike her usual stunning revelations though, this one was not one Marinette already knew.

everything that i know about this tumblr bug

⊹・maybe “bug” isn’t accurate, but as of now, that is what it appears to be.

⊹・basically a lot of users are being logged out, both on mobile on desktop, and are being requested to change their password, yet are unable to. 

⊹・imo that logging out issue seems to be stemming from the issue with some custom codes; when you go on desktop to your customisation page and have had the issue from the previous point, you’ll receive an error message saying, “your custom theme has been reset because we detected some suspicious code.”

⊹・this is really weird as there’s no consistent pattern (e.g. let’s say there are two blogs with the same theme; this does not necessarily mean that both will face this issue), and even themes part of the theme garden (meaning that they have been checked and approved by staff) are receiving this error.

⊹・as of now, it seems that this is only affecting main blogs, not sideblogs.

⊹・it is possible that your theme can be recovered using the theme recovery; please note that this has not been effective for everyone.

⊹・i’d advise everyone to go to their customisation page, and copy & paste their codes (for both blog themes and pages) to google docs, their notes app, pastebin, etc.

using the theme recovery page helped me loads to get my deleted theme back! or at least something close to it.

Change your email to a current email you use and your password to something different! It seems tumblr is logging people out to force them to change their passwords and it’s breaking themes. This probably has to do with an old login leak from years back. It’s not confirmed but it seems that way
