Two more drawings inspired by the same Pride and Prejudice/Jeeves fic from @sandwichsapphic , got a bit carried away at this point, uh huh (ʘ ͟ʖ ʘ)
obsessed with bertie's custom numberplate on his stupid yellow car. no wonder his enemies can find him so easily hes driving the world's most conspicuous car with his own fucking initials on it
Thank you, Jeeves!
i did a wee bit of research and you know what's funny? Bertie only uses his middle name THRICE in the whole series! of course this is as far as i can gather, i went through every book/short story collection online and searched for 'Wilberforce' and 'B.W.W.' just to see if he used it for his initials, but actually it only appears four times!
First in The Mating Season (ch 4):
So we immediately know Bertie does NOT like his middle name, much like PG Wodehouse himself!!
Second in Jeeves In The Offing (ch 2):
This is a newspaper announcement that Bobbie wrote for her own devious reasons, not Bertie using it himself.
And finally in Much Obliged Jeeves (ch9):
And again later (ch16):
The second time is also to Aunt Dahlia, so it's more of a funny reference to the earlier convo than anything. I do wonder at what point Wodehouse decided on the horse-christening lore, whether or not he just gave Bertie a goofy middle name as a one-off gag in MS and then decided to make another joke out of it later. We all know Wodehouse is notorious for forgetting his own canon, but it's nice that he remembered both the name AND Bertie's horrifying vision of 'The Voice That Breathed O'er Eden' playing at his wedding.
Anyway, what I've gathered from this is that I totally overuse his middle name, when actually Bertie is rather embarrassed by it! He most often refers to himself as plain old 'Bertram Wooster', or, when in a pinch, 'B. Wooster' or 'Bertram W.' He dare not utter that middle W.
i can’t believe there was never any elaborate gag about bertie wooster and bobbie wickham having the same initials. not even a mixed up carving on a tree or something
Too old to break free, still young enough to be unworthy
I can't recommend this fic enough. It's a breathtaking painting with words.

Also, there was mention of wildflowers but not which kind, so I chose these for their symbolism (all native to England for bonus points):
Musk mallow - softening of the heart, consumed by love
Wood anemone - anticipation
Cornflower - hope in love, devotion
Chicory - perseverance, endless waiting
Yarrow - everlasting love
I am sorry to everyone who tagged me in some tag game and I never responded. I saw it and thought “aww they thought of me” and proceeded to forget about it right after
I don't know what the applicability of this data is, if any, but it can't be denied that it does exist now, so you guys can look at it if you want
#wait am i understanding things correctly in that there are more instances of 'bertie' in ring for jeeves than in the mating season?#acting on the assumption that the mating season is the first third of that bar and ring for jeeves the second third#which doesn't quite seem like it'd make sense
You are absolutely correct, actually, I had forgotten that in the third omnibus, RfJ is listed second on the cover but on the inside the order of it and TMS are switched (judging by this and the general number of typos in them, I kind of think the omnibuses - omnibi? - were thrown together in a bit of a slapdash manner). I will correct this in the original post! However, I did run the program on both books individually, and those plots might be of interest!
I added the word "Jeeves" this time as well, and I think that's interesting because you can see where there are no "sir"s but quite a high number of "Jeeves"s, and that's where Bertie is talking about Jeeves when Jeeves isn't around!
Poor sketch of a my fav writers fic (@ sandwichsapphic)

bertie hyphenates his surname when he gets married so he can keep using "we woosters fought at agincourt" but also start saying "you know the jeeves name is synonymous with intelligence" so hes unstoppable in arguments
jeeves obviously still wins most arguments they have but bertram wilberforce jeeves-wooster does try
*cracks her knuckles* you asked for this. Don't tell me you didn't. How dare you make a fic of the silly little headcanon I had and then write such a tender piece about it. I was so excited that I kept babbling about the fic. I had to re-explain to my family and non-fandom friends what fanfiction is. I would not shut up about this.
So I made very terrible visuals for you of all the letters and telegrams in 'I Met Him There and Told Him I Believe'. (They should be in order...if not please forgive me.).
I made this painstakingly in my Viewer program because I literally have nothing else. Shout out to Unsplash for copyright free pictures and the Call of Cthulhu fandom for making a handy dandy machine for telegrams. I did add the GR myself (which is probably very obvious). I fell down a rabbit hole and combed through the UK post museum site to uncover which logo UK telegrams used before 1935. (It was surprisingly interesting! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)
Anyway after this frenzy I am gonna take a business day to get my scattered thoughts together and write you a proper review on AO3. <3
(If you spot a mistake I will make you a new visual)
I am in tears over this. How dare YOU come in here and make beautiful visuals for my fic that wouldn't even have existed if you hadn't given me the idea! The telegrams!! Oh this is so exciting. They look exactly like I imagined!!
Thank you so much for this!! The hand-writing is so perfect for Jeeves, and I actually had to set down my phone seeing them all laid out like that. The amount of work this must've taken, I can't believe it. It's so beautiful. <3
Belinda and Poppy’s storyline is just once again showing women are reduced to being nothing but mothers and daughters
I should stop dismissing tedious fan rumours that have done the rounds for years. Lately RTD just films those instead of coming up with anything new.
