Absolutely exhausting to see people's response to "hating men ultimately leads to all types of transphobia. It doesn't belong in feminist spaces and ultimately harms everyone involved. Hating men is in fact not decentering men." And seeing half the comments be "well trans men are all evil misogynists who need to die" or "maybe I wouldn't hate trans men if they stopped acting like they're oppressed" YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM
Fundamentally, hating one gender means you have to have a strict (usually binary) definition of gender. Hatred does not allow room for a nuanced understanding of people’s lives, so you can’t say “I only hate those people” without catching others in the crossfire.

watched a sheep-shearing demo yesterday and the sheep do this thing. where they kick and struggle and bleat as the farmer drags them into place for clipping and wrestles them onto their back. the sheep hate it so much because they don't know what's happening.
and then the farmer gets two or three clips in, and the sheep just sort of chills out, and realizes it feels kind of nice. and their coat comes off and five minutes later they're released, shorn and naked, and they go run around with the other freshly-shorn sheep. they rub their skin against the hay and the barn walls and each other, and get startled by the new textures. sometimes they get cold, so they huddle up together or get a under a blanket.
and they will get sheared this time again, next year, and they will kick and struggle and bleat again, because they won't remember how it felt. they will remember a year of being an animal that everything wants to kill, and they won't be ready for someone to try to help them.

I am once again begging people to realize that AI checker doesn’t work. it’s never worked. it’s notoriously known to have flagged human-made works as AI and AI-generated works as human-made. and by feeding it people’s works, you are feeding more works to AI, because apparently the machine itself is AI.

what really drives me nuts is that like. this happens an average of x times per year as a visibly weird person, but we only get made aware of it a small fraction of the time. you can't kill yourself you have to be clocky in the gas station.
Being clocky when i was working as a barista was one of my big joys. Being clocky when i was teaching high schoolers how to play the marimba was my reason for being for half a decade. It sucks how scared I am to leave the house I live in now. But I still need to try and be clocky at the grocery store. I wish i had a job to be clocky at. Being visibly me is one of the most radical acts I'm capable of, and I hope that one day we live in a world where it isn't radical at all.
that's exactly what I was feeling when I wrote this. we all find ways to defy our fear, love is an excellent motivator.

Yosuke moved from the big city with his parents to Inaba to work at the new branch of Co-op having recently been built there (the JUNE branch, often called Junes). Inaba's older folk feel like the Hanamuras are micromanaging them, but they're just trying to do their best.
Teddie is a "shadow". a child worker who were used for illegal mining to their small hands and easy to control nature. They're called shadows due to the fact that they're kept in the dark caves they worked in and were often recovered covered in dust and other minerals- Teddie is legally blind (because of the darkness of the caves making it easy to hide the children, his eyes are replaced with augmented ones that can see in the dark) and has many injuries related to both working and modding... and his incredibly illegal UrCine mods cannot be addressed untill he is old enough to handle surgery. He was the only one recovered from a shadow den operation, and was taken in by the Hanamuras.
After their father passes- Yosuke takes on K9 augment pack on offer from KirijoTek- an experimental modset. This earns not only earns his family bonuses and relieve stress on his now-single mother and little brother- but also helps him work as a deliveryboy for the Junes Co-op. A nice side-bonus is that it makes Teddie feel less weird about having augments so young.
Yosuke has had to grow up far faster than he should have, and often reacts accordingly, overstressed and overworked and often facing friction from the town and harbors a form of distaste for the boring town his father died in. His work and busy-but-boring life makes him struggle with making real friends.
