Wanting to fully transition
participating in religious or cultural events and traditions ESPECIALLY if being transgender is “taboo” in that religion or culture
using words like tranny to describe themselves
I think we need to kill the sentiment that people lose their right to personhood once they do something bad enough
I don't know who needs to hear this but you need to stop dehumanising people even if those people are "abusers" or "creeps" because you need to understand that you are not immune to doing something equally as bad
Abusers and creeps are not some species of especially heinous animal or alien or monster wearing the face of a human. They're people. And you NEED to drill it into your head that they are people because you NEED to remember that people are capable of doingn heinous shit. And you are a person. And your loved ones are people.
By emotionally classifying people who have done heinous things as subhuman filth incapable of thinking and feeling and acting just like you and me, and by using that emotional dehumanization as a reason to deny those people any compassion or support on a systemic level, you risk becoming blind to abuse/violence perpetrated by someone close to you or even yourself. Because if "abusers don't deserve rights", then you won't ever want to admit or accept that you or a loved one is perpetrating abuse, and that makes stopping the abuse or preventing further abuse much harder. This is how you end up excuaing abusive behaviour on the grounds that, since you don't see someone as a disgusting subhuman pile of garbage therefore they can't possibly be An Abuser, Trademark
And here'a the even harder pill to swallow: since the world isn't split into "abusers" and "good people", in the same way you or someone you love can inflict abuse/violence on others, the people who HAVE inflicted abuse/violence on others can, in fact, change and become better people
There is no bottomless chasm of moral uncleanliness that someone can run off and fall into and get stuck in forever. People can do better. Yes, even those people. You HAVE to accept this. Otherwise not only is there no motivation for anyone to try and do better (which is when people become stuck in a cycle of violence and abuse they don't want to escape), but your idea of a perfect justice system doesn't look any different from Literal Christian Hell. And I HOPE you understand that Literal Christian Hell is, to put it very lightly, not a good justice system.
Hey does anyone remember when a transgender adult man with cerebral palsy got top surgery of his own accord and then posted about it in celebration, and then transphobes:
Lied and said he was non-verbal
Lied and said he was incapable of communication
Lied and said he had not gotten the surgery of his own accord
Lied and said his "guardians decided [he] was trans"
Got MGT to call a procedure done on a consenting adult "criminal" just because he had cerebral palsy
Mass reported his video and his account, which he ran, until facebook terminated his account for "child exploitation" despite it being his account, him being an adult, and him not being exploited
Ableism and transphobia are inseperable. Just like ableism was used to prop up bigotry throughout history, now it is being used to deny transgender people bodily autonomy the same way it is used to deny disabled people bodily autonomy. It's not a coincidence that so much of the rights transphobic rhetoric is focused on labelling us as "mentally ill". They don't think any disabled people, let alone mentally ill people should have independence or liberation.

it’s not a tumblr issue. it’s not a bluesky issue. it’s not a twitter issue. its not an instagram issue. it’s not a tiktok issue. it’s not a fucking reddit issue. it is on every goddamn site i have looked for community. it is on fucking youtube for christ’s sake. it’s in the literature staples. it’s in the academia. it’s in the in-person community. story after story and story responded to with “this isn’t a wide spread issue it’s just happening in [insert whichever specific place that person was].”
i repeat for what feels like the hundredth time though i think it’s only the fifth: if you do not think an axis of oppression exists then you will without a doubt be perpetuating it.
most transfeminists i have seen over the last three years of observation do not think they can be meaningfully bigoted towards trans men and mascs. they do not think they can meaningfully hurt us. they do not think they need to check their biases. so their biases are going unchecked, and my god is the harm and bigotry abundant.

Return your grocery cart. If you’re able-bodied offer your seat to someone who is not. Help your friend move. Drive your sister to the airport. Make sure drunk people have a safe ride or walk home. Pet-sit for your coworker. Participate in a meal train. Volunteer in your area. That’s what friendship and community is about.
trans men absolutely are in sex work, the majority just present as women for work because it's much harder to make money if you don't. You don't see them because they're forced to detransition for work or you haven't even tried to look for the ones who are presenting masc. They're all over the sex work forums if you know what to look for and how they talk about it.
there is no "trans men aren't pushed into sex work" privilege. It is not a privilege to be forced into it AND have to detransition for it. This isn't a competition
I think a lot of "trans men aren't affected by this" stuff boils down to the trans men in question that ARE affected being deminished to not being men at all or being forced to detransition/pretend to be women
A lot of talk about boymoding and how hard it is but trans men do the exact same thing the other way around and a lot of times specifically because they are forced into sex work
The trans community in general would be way healthier if we realized we literally go through the same exact stuff
I hate the obsession some people have with passing for many reasons but last week a trans man from Scotland said something on Instagram that's been rattling in my brain. He said that passing a lot of times has to do with how much money you have because if you have more money you are more able to get HRT and different surgeries you might want. And like obviously everyone's transition looks different and people want different things and there is the transmedicalist obsession with looking perfect cisgender but this also really hit home for me.
this is absolutely true. trans people who are financially privileged absolutely have more resources at their disposal to pass as cis than trans people who arent. just an example, a trans person in the united states who does not need to rely on insurance coverage to have the procedures and surgeries that they need to pass can get them done a lot faster and dont have to spend time (which financially underprivileged people do not have as much of as financially privileged people) getting insurance to cover it. financially privileged trans people can also afford to take more time off work and can afford post op surgical care more easily than financially underprivileged trans people can. its a lot harder to get any kind of procedure done as a trans person than it is to get hrt, and doubly so if you are not financially privileged. at least in the united states, transitioning is extremely expensive, and not everyone has access to it. and while a big part of passing is genetics, another big part is your personal financial circumstances. neither of these things are (typically) things that you can control. and this is what i mean when i say that most trans people who pass as cis do not try any harder than most trans people who dont
as a person under the agender/nonbinary umbrella I actually think the recently increased focus on a nonbinary person’s agab is insanely fucking uncomfortable and blatantly exorsexist. Stop trying to sort NB people into boxes of amab vs afab, transfem vs transmasc, tma vs tme, etc etc. It is not praxis or activism to keep attempting to binarize people whose entire identities are built around the fact that they DO NOT ADHERE to a binary. They still use they/them, and B) the reason they added she/her back and the reason you think Demi "dropped they/them" is because people are transphobic and exorsexist and never used their pronouns in the first place! It's literally because people were exorsexist to them.

I'm very disappointed to see that transgender people are still going around lying about being intersex to avoid outing themselves.
I can't stop people from doing it but I can warn you, telling someone you have an "intersex disorder" doesn't automatically stop the invasive questions or discrimination. It may work occasionally in the same vein as people who are more trans accepting may not ask invasive questions but it isn't a "step up."
You're frankly benefiting from a group of people who are also seen as "failed cis people" but who also experience medical treatment done not for their comfort and desires but for the comfort and desires for cisgender perisex folk. Genital mutilation, hormone therapy, all of it, many intersex folk experience non consensual or downright coercive "correction" of their bodies.
Except in this situation you're benefiting from idea that intersex people just need treatment to be "fixed" without experiencing years of medical discrimination and treatment done against your will.
Intersex experiences and bodies are not people who have a "leg up" if they choose to transition (and it's not always hormone related, intersex bodies are diverse). I've had chest hair and a happy trail pre testosterone, it didn't suddenly expand and sprout super quickly on testosterone, and all it got me was bullying and poor treatment.
There's more to the experience of intersex folk than you realize because you're not intersex. Learn more about intersex experiences from intersex people, please.
