@sangheerv
“you’ve been a lot happier lately. i’m glad-- it’s nice to see you like this,” sanghee told his sister, resting his head against the wall. “did something happen? or are you just in a particularly kind mental health cycle?”
“People underestimate the things I would do for this bread.” the words are spoken before she takes a ginormous bite of her sandwich, letting out a quiet hum of glee as she wiggled in place. She was truly glad she had found a small mom and pop café-restaurant that she could sit at and not have to worry about fans bomb rushing her. It really gave her a better sense of normalcy and comfort. “The only thing I ask is that you not tell a bunch of people about this place, it’s a secret little hideaway!”
“it took me a second to realize you meant bread and not money,” he admitted with a little laugh, scrubbing his face with his hand. he liked scope’s music, but some of the english they added to the songs clearly had an effect on his brain. “i cross my heart-- i’ll keep it to myself. i won’t even go either, as long as it means you’ll bring me snacks to buy my silence.”
“i don’t have a lot of time to teach you this choreography, so i need you to really pay attention, okay?” daewon said firmly, adjusting his hat and crossing his arms. “you film your music video tomorrow. we need to get this done today.”
“i understand,” sanghee said, biting back any hesitation or self doubt he was holding. he had a job to do, no matter how much he believed in his own abilities as a dancer-- under this much stress or otherwise. “is everyone else up to date? am i the only one who needs to learn this?”
“the stylists want to dye my hair, but i’m so scared. i don’t think i want them to…” ripley admitted, eyes wide with panic. “i feel like orange has become my signature; i like how i look with it! and remember that stupid bowl cut they gave me? no matter how long passes, i still am traumatized by that…”
“if you have the face for wild colors, i think any color could work,” sanghee admitted. “don’t you want the opportunity to try something else that could end up being really cool?”
“i got asked in an interview yesterday about how new age chooses who’s in what unit, and i feel bad, because i just froze,” raein said, rubbing the back of his neck. “i have no idea what’s going on– do you think new age knows what’s going on?” @rvroyi @rvsangmin @sangheerv @chenrv @rvbaohui @rvquin
“they must have some sort of system. i can only assume they try to decide based on who they think will best execute the concept or the music they have prepared, but really.....i have no idea. i couldn’t tell you. your guess is as good as mine,” he admitted sheepishly
“oh, um…. you mic pack is loose,” kyungmi said softly, tapping the man in front of her on the shoulder, eyes flashing in recognition when he turned around. “oh! we… we’ve met before, haven’t we?” @sangheerv
“oh, is it? damn, i thought i’d secured it well enough this time....” sanghee mumbled to himself, twisting himself into a pretzel to try to fix it before looking up to kyungmi. “oh...i think so? i was a lot younger, though. like....thirteen years old, younger. i used to be in 24seveN, if that rings a bell- i think we probably crossed paths.”
rvsumitra:
she looked up, and then looked back down awkwardly. she knew him– he was jinhee’s brother. he was the leader of scope. technically her senior (on many fronts– from what she’d heard, he’d debuted in a group before). it was so awkward having someone find her at all, let alone someone so important that she didn’t want to burden.
“i… no, i just need to let it pass,” she said quickly, wiping her face. “sorry. did you need this practice room? i can go.”
“no, no. i was just passing by. you can stay here,” he assured her, sitting down in front of her and keeping his arm on her shoulder comfortingly. “i’m... i’m a good listener. i’m not going to push or anything, but sometimes talking about things helps...”
rvdeokjun:
“is that something they say? that’s a new one; don’t think i’ve ever heard it before,” he replied, letting go a little laugh. “you’re right, though. i’ve been trying to remind myself that, and it’s helping ease everything a little. i think i’m just too much in the thick of the grieving part right now, though.”
“it’s an old adage. a weird, very monogamous-centric one, but the sentiment remains,” he answered with a little shrug. “yeah, i get that. you need to just feel it though, you know? there’s no cure for heartbreak. you just have to live in it and learn from it.”
rvbaohui:
“God, one can only hope,” Baohui said with a laugh. “We’ll need that for these routines they have us doing, some of them have been bonkers.”
“i feel kind of bad for the members who maybe aren’t dancers,” he admitted with a laugh. “i know raein has a hard time with the new choreography. but what we’ve been given so far has been really cool.”
jinheerv:
“i don’t know. you look a little taller..” she retorted teasingly, putting in her in-ear as she smiled. “i didn’t think i would. especially after my solo stint failed,” she admitted. “i’m really proud of us.”
he laughed, rolling his eyes. “i guess in that case, your hair does look different. a little,” he answered. “it was just the wrong time. everything happens for a reason,” he said with a sigh. “i’m proud of us too. we’ve come a long way.”
rvbaohui:
“It’s definitely hard, but… I’m still glad that I moved here. Dancing is all I wanted to do for a long time, it’s good to finally be somewhere I can go all in on it,” Baohui said.
“you made the right choice,” sanghee encouraged with a grin. “we’re kind of known as the dance company. now you’re gonna end up being a slash-level amazing dancer,” he insisted teasingly.
she’d taken so many risks. huge risks. stupid risks, probably. but she’d been feeling suffocated. she loved performing, and she wanted to love it again, instead of feeling like she was just dancing along with her heart out of it. but it was tough.
that’s what happens when no one knows your motives or who you are. fans hated her. her old groupmates were upset with her. everyone in korea was suspicious of her, because all they knew were the headlines. it was so absolutely isolating. and sumi hit her breaking point.
after feeling like she wasn’t making any progress with one of her eval routines, she really broke down, falling into a crouch with her head in her hands, crying for the first time since getting to seoul. @sangheerv
he was tired-- he’d known since he was a kid how taxing being an idol really was, but somehow, it was even more so now than when he was in 24seveN, there was so much to do. maybe it was because of the online aspect of idol life blowing up, but it was like he never got a second to breathe
he’d just finished a vlive with some of the other members. they’d been heading back to the dorms, but he’d remembered he forgot his coat in one of the practice rooms. it was when he was on his way back to find that that he saw her. he barely knew sumi, but she was upset. she looked really hurt.
cautiously approaching her, he crouched down across from her, gently putting a hand on her arm. “hey, is everything okay? is there anything i can do?” he asked softly
rvdeokjun:
he gave a sad smile and a little chuckle. “they haven’t been going well for a while now,” he admitted. “i think i’m just not what she needs. and it’s hard to argue with that, but it doesn’t make it hurt any less.”
“ah,” he answered, giving a little nod. “that’s shit luck, man. i’m sorry. but you know what they say-- you’re either dating for marriage or heartbreak. if you’re not right for each other, this needs to happen so you can both find someone who is.”
rvnoeul:
“Fully, I don’t the world could handle that kind of power - there’d be outages everywhere.”
“i’d be out of a job, at the very least,” he laughed. “no need for other idols when there’s enough byulah’s to create a group.”
“you know, this feels like deja vu,” sanghee said with a little laugh, adjusting his mic pack and eyeing his sister. “after we left our groups, i don’t know if i thought we’d ever step on stage again. it’s nice to see.” @jinheerv
jinheerv:
“thanks, sanghee. i really honestly was starting to think it would never happen,” she answered softly.
“you’re too talented for it to have never happened, jinhee. they just know how special you are and needed to find the perfect place.”
rvbaohui:
“I didn’t think it would phase me as much as it did, since it was just moving across the city and not across the globe again,” Baohui admitted. “It’s fine, I completely understand - I had my hands full trying to catch up with the routines… practice is structured way different at New Age.“
“i can imagine,” sanghee said with a nod. “we learn... different skills,” he laughed. “it must be so hard, going from a company with no dance, to the dance company.”
