the funny thing about gracerocky with oblivious grace is that rocky is absolutely going through it. like he'd be thinking, "is leaky space blob STUPID, question? rocky try eridian courting. NO WORK! rocky try human courting. NO WORK EITHER! rocky try confessing. TRANSLATOR NOT TRANSLATE PROPERLY. 🎵🎵🎶🎵🎶!!!"

also i just know rocky is seething whenever he tries to talk about his feelings but the translator spits out some crude, chewed-up oversimplification of his confession that can still be reasonably construed as platonic. which grace absolutely does.

rocky: you are half of me, and i want us to be so inexplicably intertwined that it's hard to tell where i end and where you begin. love is too small of a word to encompass the depth of what i feel for you

translator: rocky love grace

I made my post into something a little more visually appealing! Behold my wonders; I eyeballed about 98% of this. The two things I got information from the official reference for was the shoelace detail and the back sheathe (provided to me by a friend after asking). Everything else took me almost a week and ~6 hours of hunting. I also personally took all the movie screencaps you see on the board.

old wip from when i first started thinking about bloodymary

the idea was that grace and simon start falling asleep next to each other (as a "we're the only 2 humans for a scary amount of distance" thing or to make watching easier) and the cosmic horror-ness following simon makes them start dreamsharing

i did not expect so many people to love this concept as much as me holy shit...

adding on (partially because someone asked) that simon's "you saw me" is meant to be like. you saw the real me. the me that changed in the sub. simon looks human at first glance but if you stare at him too long he gets kinda dreamlike and uncanny. if you see him out of the corner of your eye he won't look human in the slightest. (he probably sounds weird to eridians but they don't have enough basis for variation in humans to know just how weird he really is)

i think more than once grace would wake up to simon moving around like that scene with nikki in obsession lol. but he's not like. genuinely demonic or anything. he's still simon. being simon just doesn't entirely include being human anymore

I think people forget that Stratt amnesticized Grace with the goal that Ilyukina and Yao would be there to help him, y’know NOT DIE, and then THEY DIED before he woke up.

So like she gets the recordings and realizes Yao and Ilyukina are dead before he wakes up so he’s got no pilot, no engineer, and no memories.

And then you also have to remember that the EXISTENCE of these recordings and the fact they were accompanied by the Taumoeba means that an amnesticized Grace somehow managed to save earth without a pilot or engineer and shoddy memory that only vaguely gives him enough to work with as he works.

Like what the fuck man.
